In 7 days? I need to get my two year old daughter a passport and our flight is August 17th. On the website it says expedited passports take 2-3 weeks! How the hell to people get last minute passports?

I think you're screwed.

But you might check with the office of your congressional representative to see if they can be of any help.

I believe there is a way get it fast-tracked but it costs dough and I think the turn-around is 7-10 days...

Is our big, fancy, expensive Dept. of Homeland Security website of no help??

Homeland Security doesn't issue passports. That's the State Department's job.

Why did you wait 'til the last minute to get it?

This site seems to indicate you can do it in a day.

I know you can't do it in less than 3 weeks from a post office or a lcoal site, but regionals may do it. Washington can do it too.

I believe that if you have a vacation booked, you can take your receipt/printout to the office and get one expedited.

It is not possible. Someone would have to walk it through for you. In Washington.

I've heard from a few others on my FB that San Francisco is a Regional Office and they have gotten same day passports from there, but they also wished me luck..soo...I will definitely let you know how it turns out.

SOOOOO, guess what....It IS possible to get same day passports at the SF agency. And guess what else, you don't even need a fucking appt.!!! I could have got these passports like two weeks ago...there is a window for people who don't make apptments. And yeah, you have to wait hella long, but it's worth it to get your passport that day. I went in at 11 and had the passport by 3pm.

Now we know...

Thank you, me too!! I wanted to share the info with everyone in case anyone else finds themselves in a jam for a passport. I think that there are regional offices scattered throughout the USA that can print your passport book for you right there..so it's not just SF.
