(Update) Southeast Conference denies invitation to Texas A&M to join conference for now According to the latest report from Fox Sports.com, Texas A&M will leave the Big XII Conference after this season and join the SEC in 2012. Florida State Univertsity and the University of Missouri will join them.

Once again, this will probably throw the Big XII into chaos, as Nebraska and Colorado left the Big XII to join the Big Ten and Pac-10 (now Pac-12) respectively, and the Big XII almost dissolved after the Pac-10 lobbied to get Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State to join their conference last season. However, the conference was saved temporarily after the University of Texas managed to get their own cable network deal with ESPN.

It looks like they may, along with Clemson, though those schools say they haven't talked to the SEC yet about joining.

UPDATE:
The board of the SEC met today regarding Texas A&M joining the SEC but voted against offering an invitation to join the conference tomorrow. However, a future invitation is not out of the picture, but it will require another college joining them.
