It'd be great if this blurb here actually meant an interesting storyline for Smackdown, but it's probably just some hype for the live SD show on Tuesday and nothing more. At least it acknowledged Raw's GM, and I'm assuming from this, "it" is still in power.
This was taken from WWE.com:
This Tuesday at 8/7 CT, a blockbuster SuperSmackDown on Syfy will unleash itself upon the WWE Universe. However, with all the talk of conspiracies in WWE these days (read more), is it possible that SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long could be making a move to surpass WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night Raw?
Even though Raw stands firm as the longest running episodic show on cable television, SmackDown’s edgy, often-controversial action has run the table on the latter part of the week for more than a decade – first on Thursdays, then on Fridays. With all it has accomplished, Teddy Long knows as much as anyone that there is no limit to where the show can go.
The circumstances surrounding SuperSmackDown raise interesting questions as to why exactly the SmackDown GM may be attempting such an ambitious undertaking. For one thing, there’s the question of talent. In addition to the SmackDown roster – featuring such elite Superstars as World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton, Christian, Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, Mark Henry, Sheamus, Sin Cara and Wade Barrett – Teddy Long has invited the entire Raw roster as well. By attaching such high-profile names to his already explosive group of grapplers, Long has added an enormous amount of legitimacy to his special, making it a must-see event. Why would the GM go to all that trouble if he didn’t expect to get something back?
Then, there is also the conspicuous fact that Long – known for his extreme diligence regarding his Friday Night responsibilities – was absent on the Aug. 26 edition of SmackDown in Calgary, Alberta, Canada (full results). Could he have been working out last-minute details to mount some serious challenge, while everyone else was busy watching WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart? Or was he simply staying out of the spotlight, trying to avoid questions about the motives for Tuesday’s monumental special?
There is also the unavoidable fact that Raw stands without official leadership at the moment. Even though the anonymous Raw General Manager has been absent for some time, WWE COO Triple H has stepped forth to make several huge decisions on the Monday night phenomenon. However, despite his Raw presence, the COO is in reality, an officer of the entire WWE. He has just as much interest in the well-being of SmackDown that he has with Raw. Could the very notion that there is no direct opposition to his actions be tempting the SmackDown GM to take advantage of the situation?
SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long is, without a doubt, extremely dedicated to his charge. Yet, it’s that very realization that begs the question: Just how far will he go to make SmackDown the official leader of WWE?

I'm starting to wonder if he was adopted.
Because his dad was so awesome, and he is so NOT!
Aren't most 2nd and 3rd generation wrestlers supposed to be better than their old man?
Bret was better than Stu.
The Rock was better than the Soulman.
I could make a case for RKO being better than the Cowboy.
Even though, they're not better than Dusty, At least Goldust and Cody made a name for themselves.
He's starting to remind me of Erik Watts and David Flair! Maybe he should do what Bischoff's kid is doing and become a referee! JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!! |

Puh-leeze. Let's not give him that much credit. Let him be a ring crew attendant and set up and break down the ring at the beginning and end of the shows. That would be about all he's good for right now. |

I don't think he's necessarily a bad worker. I think if you put him in a Good Tag Team with a guy who doesn't completely suck. I.E. not David Otunga, he could do O.K.
Other than that, it doesn't seem like he came from someone so awesome as Curt Hennig at ALL! JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!! |

Then he signed on with WWE to get "developed" in Florida.

Ah yes, FCW. The place where everything you know about wrestling goes to die!
I don't really blame the people that run it and train the wrestlers like Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Steve Keirn, etc.
I blame Johnny Ace because he stopped hiring wrestlers and started hiring Bodybuilders and Playboy Models.
People who have no business in wrestling like that "Melina vs Alicia Fox" chick from Tough Enough.
Although, you can say that Ace is only hiring the kind of people that Vince wants in his company. So, petty much the buck stops with him. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!! |

Was I the only who was pissed off when she said that? I damn near fell over when she said that
She could've said "Trish Stratus vs Lita" and she would've gotten a pass, but THAT? come on, Stevie Wonder would've gave that shit the side eye
and you could tell she was searching in her mind for a match to name, but that's all she could remember

The truth hurts, don't it?
Okay, I was (trying to) watching TNA the other day, and is it just me or is anyone else absolutely TIRED of the canned audience noise they use on the show? It's gotten to the point where it's completely distracting when someone's trying to give a promo. It's like a constant din that sounds so unnatural, and it really shows just how second rate of a wrestling company they truly are. I didn't even stick around to hear whatever it was Jeff Hardy had to say, which probably wasn't coherent. Lol!
Oh, and someone tell me again how is it that Angle and Jarrett can now co-exist in the same group? Before, they couldn't even stand each other and JJ had just stolen his wife. So, I guess everything's kosher now, huh? We're supposed to forget they hated each others guts, huh? |

They need a whole new creative department. Fire Russo and just start over completely! Nothing is making any sense in that damn company. I mean, how many times are we gonna see people who's primes were 15 years ago headline their PPVs and be the main storyline of their shows? Hogan STILL thinks he's the biggest thing in wrestling, which is just sad. What's even sadder is their are others who actually let him believe that too. I'm looking at you Hervey, Bischoff, and Carter. |

I pray to God their match at NOC doesn't suck as much as we all think it will. As much as I HATE to see Randy Boreton, I'm glad they're officially mixing the two shows. Too many nobodies in the company to be able to legitimately split the roster like they initially did several years ago.
