How Would You Remember The First Decade Of The 2000's?

I realized today that the first decade is over, dumb me.

But anyway, I'll remember 2000-2010 by the following things:

1. Autotune

2. The return of Ray-Bans.

3. The revamp of Converse.

4. Women trying to hard to be sexy.

5. Men limiting their love to one race.

6. Prince

7. A sloppy decade in general

8. The Dark Night

9. Spongebob

10. Skinny Jeans.

I'll remember it as incredibly boring.

I wish I could go in a time machine at the age I am now, and get out in the 1980s. biggrin

Good point..I think the only good music to come out of this decade was from Amy Winehouse.

The 80s were exciting. I have a feeling though that this decade will be exciting like the 80s...in the UK we've already got the riots again!

The first have of the decade (2000-2005ish) were pretty decent. It was a time when a lot of people still had houses and fat 401Ks. It was a time when CBreezy and Rihanna were almost on their way to being a power couple. It was a great time for Hollywood with sequels to the Lord of the Rings , X-Men and Matrix movies. U2s tribute to 9/11 victims at the 2003 Superbowl, and then of course there was that whole Y2K thing in 2000. Seemed like heavy makeup took a backseat to a more natural look around say 2006 through 2008. Green tea got real big during the beginning of the decade and now green tea is in every damn thing from soda to ice cream to facial moisturizers. wacky Lots of talk about climate change during this first decade and technological gadgets improved faster than they could be created.

neutral

Actually I don't care much about decades threads but I just needed an excuse to talk about green tea.

3. financial uncertainty/stupidity

4. The dumbest president (if not American) ever

5. Reality Television

6. shedding of any remaining shame/conscience in society

7. An exponential increase of unwarranted egotism

8. hints at an upcoming apocalypse

9. Not much of any substance musically

10. Great cable TV shows

The last 10 years have been thrilling for me on a personal level. Thrilling isn't always great. But it's still a thrill.

Pop culture-wise? 9/11. The Decade of Terrorism.

They got the nerve to say Obama looks like a chimp when its OBVIOUS that George Bush is part primate. I'm convinced that was him in Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes only he wasn't playing Ceasar. He played that other one...you know the one that was the bully and beat up Ceasar and stold his clothes. That's just the thing Dubya would do...steal the shirt off your back!

Yeah, I have to revise my above comment to include green tea's popularity and the X Men franchise.

Well in San Diego, men used to only like one particular race of women.
