I actually think it's the other way around and that they're insecure as hell. People who really think they're the bees knees have no problems laughing at themselves.
I agree, though it can go too far sometimes, when ppl only tend to joke at their own expense. After a while it could be a bit unhealthy IMO.
or those that are very quick to make fun of their own shortcomings in a defensive way (you know, makes fun of themselves to beat you to it). I've known people that are EXHAUSTING that way. Ultimately they are still just talking about themselves all the time
A balance is nice, there is NOTHING worse than people that take themselves so seriously that they retreat when they make a mistake and nobody is then allowed to mention it again

Self deprecating humor is one of the sexiest qualities in a person. It speaks so much about the kind of (good, imo) person they are.
There is nothing worse than someone that can not have a good laugh at themselves now and then and there is nothing more of a turn off than someone who takes everything so seriously and thinks they are too fucking cool for school.

Oh, and let me just clear the air since I've been noted about another thread mentioning this one...this thread is no coincidence. It absolutely has been directly influenced by posts on the org in several different threads, especially recently.
