johnart said: Seeing Alexander Skarsgard naked aside, I'm not loving the two of them together for that very reason. Okay there's more than one reason. First, I cannot stand Anna Paquin and IMHO there is zero chemistry between the two of them. I can overlook that because AS is naked. Second, the multiple story lines all taking time from each other has taken from their story. AB likes to take these story lines and characters from the books and make them his own, but he seriously diminished this one and he shouldn't have fucked it up like that. I'm only overlooking that because AS is naked.

u may not like AP but damn i wish i was doing them scenes with her that AS was

Her body was kick ass!! I love her (cover ur eyes Nothingbutjoy) as Sookie.

Easily the best episode of the the season. Loved the scene with the barmaid riding Pam's coffin like a vibrator. Jason is gonna save Jessica, if you play it again you hear a shot being fired after the guard tackles him, when Jessica is crawling across the floor.

N whikle I hate Tommy, I do have to give props to the actor that some how brings empathy to the character.

The finale is obvious going to be a showdown between Marnie, honey if youre going to do an accent play it through, and Lafayette with Tara and Jesus in the middle of it all. Id say Jesus eats the dirt.

Overall very well done. Well acted and great script.

Erics butt is a plus, but I really have no interesting in him and sookie. Honestly its really not Ann that I have a problem with, I just dont really care for how the character is written for the show. Shes really the least interesting of the characters.

N just when I thought we would make it through a season, we got to see Tara ball like a child AGAIN. ugh.

Alan Ball is just torturing us. He's a bitch; they do that sometimes. wink

there was good in this episode, too:

Alcide nekkid

Eric nekkid

Jason Stackhouse half nekkid, doin' hand-stand push-ups eek biggrin batting eyes (and tell your husband that JS is not going gay this season hmph! lol )

but that's also cool ; you gotta be in great shape to do that shit.. my dad used to (and w/o padded boxing gloves)

arrow back to my book.. wink

I was like WOW when that scene popped up. nod That Jason is definitely in shape, whew drool And it was funny when Hoyt stopped by to talk about Jason's trauma as a rape victim but Jason was more concerned about Hoyt finding out that he got feelings for Jessica. lol

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Yes I noticed that shot too before she made it to the door and thought they would actually let us see what happened but then they cut the episode off.

I have to admit too, the Sookie/Eric supposedly "in love" storyline is kind of confused Like John said, all of sudden Sookie is supposedly in love with Eric like he's her savior? ohgoon I'd rather see the developing chemistry between Jason and Jess.

I know right. Tara is just plain ole' annoying. She wants to believe and be apart of anything anti-vamp. She just needs to talk to a therapist and get over it. She's been annoying ever since she started screwing with Eggs. disbelief

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

No, I think you're right. I'm also getting confused because I've also read the books. Doesn't Jason become a werepanther in the books? I thought he did. I was also looking forward to those witch crime recreation spells that they did in the books. Do you remember that?

yes, he does (in the books)

but for some reason I keep thinking Jason didn't turn [on tv] maybe b/c this full moon was only a day or two after he was bitten and rescued by Hoyt & Jessica.. in the books, didn't a month or so have to pass before he turned..? confuse

but maybe Ball funked with the cannon again --- I was shocked when Sookie asked Alcide & Debbie and they said you can't get turned by a bite/scratch from any wereanimal.

That is correct, Jason does become a bitten were-panther in the books.

I totally remember the crime re-creation spells from the books. They were great!

Season 5, for me, is a mystery as to what direction the story lines will go since AB has deviated so far from the books.

Digressing a bit, but speaking of AB deviating from the books. I think AB's preference for Bill/Stephen Moyer along with what I consider the totally ill casting of AP as Sookie has very much diminished the Sookie/Eric story line. Hell, even their "song" is less emphasized, or maybe that's just me, but it seems toned down and even quieter than the really great Sookie/Bill song.

Yes, Jason had at least 2 weeks to wait to turn for the first time in the books.

That shocked me to! I'm kinda hoping he will stay unturned. It was never a favorite story line of mine from the books and Ryan Kwanten is so adorable as Jason just as he is.

Marshall Allman does a FANTASTIC job of portraying Tommy Mickens. I'm actually really disappointed in Sam in how he's totally failing in the big brother/mentor department. Tommy is a shit to be sure, but I think if Sam expects him to know how to act, to know right from wrong when Tommy was very obviously not brought up that way. Tommy wants a better life and to be a better person, but does not have the tools to do so. He is completely clueless. He's very street smart, but he was taught to take anything he could from everyone he comes across. Sam has dropped the ball with Tommy repeatedly.

Not good enough when it came to my Jessica. hmph!

He's going to blame himself he bound her.

Jess is young, so it'll take a long time for her to burn. Just enough time for Jason and/or the security guard to get her back in to heal.

In terms of strength, yes, but in terms of resistance to sun, I think younger vamps have an advantage. Godric was tons stronger than any vampire but he was 3000 years old and burned away in seconds. Eric and Russell took forever to burn last season but they're only a fraction of Godric's age. Bill's relatively young and he survived burning in season 1. I think the closer you are to being human the greater resistance you have. A True Blood expert can correct me if I'm wrong.

here is my opinion on that what debbie and alcide said to sookie, maybe it's true that u one of ur parents had 2 be a werewolf in order the baby 2 become one later on in life, same theory about a shifter, but somehow someway there had 2 be a first, so what the history of the ghost daddy and mommy story from hotshots is not 2 far fetched. because of jessica's blood in jason it might have contained jason's change or altered it somehow. so i still think jason will turn eventually

I am not. If I were it would be Nothinbutjoy. I am on www.true-blood.net as Nothinbutjoy.

The sites are frustrating though. The are heavily moderated. I could not say "I think Anna Paquin is half troll with acting skills to match." on those sites like I can here. smile

To change the subject, in the books it is very clear about born vs bitten in the were/shifter world. In fact that is what they call it "born vs bitten".

A born were/shifter* has to be the first born child of of were/shifter parents. They are the only child to be a were/shifter. Other children of the same couple will not have the trait.

In the books, a person can be bitten to be a were/shifter, but they do not become the full animal. It's how they explain the "wolfman" of the movies and tv. They are also not held in the esteem as a born were/shifter.

There is no "ghost mama/ghost daddy" in the books. They don't even go into the origins of the first were/shifters. Vampires are magical creatures. Were/shifters are magical creatures. Fairies ARE magic.

*were/shifter is meant to differenciate between the different supernaturals (supes) A were is a shifter who turns into one particular animal. A Were is a shifter who turns into a wolf. They had declared themselves superior to other weres and are the only ones allowed to call themselves Were with a capital W. They are also, primarily the only shifters who are organized. The Hotshot were-panthers were more a clan. Shifters can shift into any animal. In the books, at first, Sam could only change into the animal he last saw a picture of. I think Charlaine Harris, either dropped that, forgot about it, or just stopped going into detail about it as the book series has progressed.

In the show, who the hell knows what AB is going to do? However, I do think I saw in a teaser/behind the scenes thing at some point that Jason was not going to change. I could be wrong though.

I'm firmly planted in denial
