Encinal Yacht Club, Southshore Mall, Park Street, the old Navy base, Crown Beach... the list goes on...
I hope to never leave, man. I've had to do so a couple times and whenever I come back it just feels like I'm home. I love that the speed limit is 25 everywhere, love the houses, love driving through the trees on Central, love Crab Cove. The Navy base is a favorite place of mine as well, even when I don't have any reason to be there I'll fill up the coffee mug and take a drive by the ships. I usually end up driving out the other end, parking and watching the ships move through the channel or off-load across the water. It sounds much more romantic than it really is, but I just love it here.
My city was voted worst dressed people in the USA and the meanest people in the USA recently in some poll.
But its the best town to raise kids in, I live on the beach, its urban yet pretty and full of stuff yet small. Really family oriented ... but boring if you are a single adult compared to other cities since we shut down at 2am.

Great sports teams here.... we kick ass. Boston.
I thought most places shut down at 2 AM these days? I know NYC goes after hours, but are there still other late night/all night cities out there. They essentially ran the underground night club scene out of the Bay Area by setting curfew and noise regulation laws. There are very few events that ever go past four AM anymore, and pretty much everything else is closed by two, if not earlier.

In the northeast it seems like every surrounding town/city has late night clubs ... in Conn, RI, NH... well not Maine... but... its Maine.
our ho's got airs o'er here... think they speshul and cost a grip...
Now over in the Tenderloin...
Man, I really know nothing about it. But I lived on 41st and Broadway for a while (right across the street and around the corner from Mama's Cafe) and I'd often be out in the neighborhood walking or riding a bike. I was propositioned more than once in the area over by the old Omni (behind that hot dog shack on, err, Telegraph I think). Anyway, one time this woman was like, "$10 baby" and I was thinking to myself, "Uhhh! Ten bucks? That does not a good deal make." Anyway, that was a while back and they've done a huge amount of cleaning up that area (i.e., gentrification) around the Temescal Arts Center. It looks so different now it feels like a totally different place.

Mama's Royal Cafe!! Best damn diner EVER!!
and yeah the whole Temescal area is now teeming with Hipsters wishing they could afford Rockridge but tryin' to "Keep it real, man"
Late Summer/Early Fall I love the changing of the leaves. I love driving down my street when I get off of work, watching the sunset on all of the trees in my neighborhood. The leaves are so red, the tree looks like it's on fire.
Where I am actually from, to me, is reeeal perty. Very flat, woodsy... azeleas all over the place in spring. Magnolias... quaint little southern constructions, freindly people who all tawk funny. One of the most insane high school marching bands around. That's my home. That's my stompin grounds.
Oh, I got a video... if y'all don't dig this shit I just don't know...
This director has gotten so many awards for this school it's crazy.
- it's a large European city but feels provincial and quaint in many areas
-the fact that they have amazing food and culinary resources satisfies my inner foodie
-it's close to large bodies of water and the beaches are relaxing
-when I used to be a runaround club scene girl, the nightlife offered endless possibilities
-within 75 minutes flight time I can be in Milan, Paris, or London
-the wine here is goooooooood
Where is this? Hamburg?
Yup. The other stuff about the city is fine and well- but outside of the North and Baltic Sea, I was really shocked by just how much water is around this place. A couple of weeks ago we took off on a lake tour of the north and there were beaches everywhere That's the thing that has totally sealed the deal for me to never consider leaving. I need to be near water at all times.
