Perhaps you are right. It is a combination of things really. I was raised to be polite, not curse & think before I talk. So many times something funny comes to mind but then I analyse it before I say it and feel bad. I am afraid if I say it, I might hurt someones feelings if they misunderstand what I say.

You're very funny, in real life too. When you find something funny and can't stop laughing is almost as funny as the things you actually say.

No. Not all people get me, because of cultural diferences. I also don't expect most people who are not like me to get the jokes.

If someone doesn't get a joke ... I am not small minded enough to think they are stupid, I just believe I didn't say something funny to them. You see, people need a point of reference in order to find something funny. So, if I only pull jokes from my way of life and joke only about what people in my own culture may find funny then I expect some people to not laugh and even get offened.

Its just how things are... so if they get it then great, ... . if they get offened, sorry! If they think I'm corny... they can kiss my ass, shit I tried.

It is what it is, but to think that everyone should get your jokes and think everyone values what you value, everyone should like what you like... naw.... that's not happening. Most people outside of your culture don't give one damn about what you like or think is important. Heck, most times they make fun of you when your back is turned or think you are crazy.

I always believed it came down to what comedy shows (TV or radio) you were brought up on when you were a kid.

If I'm with people who either don't find me funny (or I don't find them funny) my first thought is "we watched different things as kids."

For me, my parents would show me Marx Bros. films and we'd always listen to the Goon show on the radio every Saturday and about when I was 12, it was all about Monty Python. So I loved absurd stuff. If, at school, I'd make a Groucho or Spike Milligan-style joke and the others who didn't laugh were most likely watching Friends or Seinfeld- shows that I think are only so-so.

I love funny faces. There are some people who can't understand why anyone would want to pull a face. And usually, those same people love dead-pan comedians. Give me Harpo any day

My sense of humor is dry, caustic and dark. The people who matter to me get it (it's part of why they like me). A lot of people don't get me, though.
