The Year Of 1988

I was born in boring ol' 1992. I never got a chance to live one second in the mighty 80's.

My favorite year is 1988, simply because music was unique at the time. The movies were outstanding. I did my research o that's how I know this stuff.

I wish I could've been born in 1988. I'm thinking about getting a lettermen jacket with 88' on the front.

Can you guys tell me something about 88'.

the second summer of love. acid house in full effect. the year fashion turned to shit. not really a good year at all. the 80s were shite, full of shite music and bad fashions. the 70s were far better and the 90s were better than the 80s

one of the few things that was any good in the 80s was prince. haven't you heard any of those awful 80s music compilations of seen the genre flicks taking the piss out of the music and fashions?

john hughes was cool in the 80s, but life wasn't like that for normal people. the 80s wasn't a decade long genre flick with a cool soundtrack. it was all aids and shite music on the radio

1. The fashion looked versy cool to me.

2. The 90's are not better than the 80's! People looked really dirty in the 90's.

I was 20/21, Junior to Senior in college.

I don't remember anything remarkable about that year. shrug

No, not bad at all. Not for me, anyway.

I lived it, and I just don't remember anything fabulous enough about it to start a thread... shrug

Well I met 3 people in that year who I wish I would not have met, one of them being my ex, but we just talked for about 2 minutes lol. Him and one of the other 2 after a Prince concert BTW, but I would have met them anyway, so I don't regret going to that concert. Oh and I decided to quit university and worked in a job I did not like and my uncle died in that year too.

Thank you. Not so long ago I would not have considered it such a bad year, but sometimes things change in life sigh.

I went from my sophomore to junior year of college in 1988. I also remember that summer in Chicago being very hot mad campfire as it was the year we had one of the worst droughts in history, and I was spending my summer stripping paint and painting a porch deck. I believe we had over six consecutive weeks from late June to mid-August where the temperature was over 90 degrees and a few days were even over 100. sun whew

But I also remember at the end of the summer seeing Prince on his Lovesexy tour. prince yes guitar woot! music excited dancing jig party

I was in junior high. The two biggest things that stick out in my mind about that year were Olympics-related: The Jamaican Bobsled Team lol at the Calgary Winter Games and Flo-Jo (RIP) lightning fast on the track at the Seoul Summer Games. On weekends I would stay up late and watch Night Flight. cool

Some of my favorite jams from that year:
