^ Yes i'm seriously considering doing a trip there as I love to travel and I think its next on my list!
I am also interested in maybe spending some time on a buddhist retreat there as well as sampling the the party scene?!
I'm not sure if you know but if you were to teach English do you need a TEFL qualification or does it depend on school to school?!
You should, yes, but probably could get work without it. You should have a degree too, but again it's not absolutely necessary, but opens up the better opportunities. Without either it could be a little tricky, but maybe you have a degree? (I don't). MY COUSIN WORKS IN A PHARMACY AND SHE SAID THEY ENEMA'D PRANCE INTO OBLIVION WITH FENTONILS!! |

I should add that they're probably required by law, or at least the degree is. I believe that's needed in order to get a work permit as an English teacher and work legally. The TEFL/TESOL may just be about a school's own requirement. Really they want to see you have both. Places will take you without, though, and have you getting Non-Immigrant B visas over and over with the idea being you're going to apply for a work permit (but they've no intention of doing that as they can't). If you've a degree, it'll all be easier for you. MY COUSIN WORKS IN A PHARMACY AND SHE SAID THEY ENEMA'D PRANCE INTO OBLIVION WITH FENTONILS!! |

You KNOW he's an awesome teacher though, all enthusiastic and engaging and shit. I don't know how he does it. I only ever liked singing or art lessons with the kids, or very, very small adult classes.
Now he's into girls those love letters he gets at the end of each term might cause some problems though. MY COUSIN WORKS IN A PHARMACY AND SHE SAID THEY ENEMA'D PRANCE INTO OBLIVION WITH FENTONILS!! |

Yes, that's a good observation! It is strange how Thai wives are referred to as Thai Brides isn't it? I never really noticed it till you pointed it out. |
