Cinema Sports is similar to the 48 Hour Film festival, but you only get 10 hours to make a movie with your team. You get your assignment in the morning and you screen it that night.

I decided to make a movie without a team, all on my own. I would shoot it with a tripod and jump in front and be the actor too.

The three elements I had to include were:

1. Something old fashioned
2. An apple
3. Opening a box

I started by digging up a piece of music "MoMo" I composed and performed on a Roland XP-80. I decided to make a music video of sorts that followed the changes in my music.

The first thing I shot was the last shot of the piece. I formed my narrative around that image, so I sort of imagined the storyline in reverse. I took one hour to imagine the piece, I took one hour for lunch, so I really produced it in 8 hours and successfully brought it and screened it at a local bar, Corner Brewery, during the Shadow Arts Fair. It got a great reaction from the audience who were all complete strangers to me. Toasts and high fives came my way.

But, I did not have time to do all the colors the way I had imagined, so what I screened was raw looking footage. So, after the screening I put in another 4 hours of work.

So here's my solo 12 hour film project.

I've always wanted to do an animated video for "Bob George". And whenever I really like a Prince song, I imagine a video vividly.

I remember being disappointed by the actual "Gett Off" video compared to what I was imagining.

Anyhoo...and yeah, I had something like that on there. It was kinda a joke but not really.

Alot of times when I hear a new song,I imagine what the video should look like.What was your concept for "Gett Off"?

When I made that music, I was also a little bit inspired by the vibe of the instrumental version of "Possessed" by Prince. Originally I was paid to make that music by an animator who wanted an oroginal score to his one minute cartoon. But in the end he decided to just go with his temp music and rejected mine (even though he paid me). I just had it sitting around all this time.

I composed and recorded the music from scratch on an old Roland xp80 keyboard. No pre-recorded bits.
