Do ppl get your sense of humour?
Do ppl generally get you when you're joking, or do you find you're quite often misunderstood? Do you even think you're funny?
I find I'm nearly always understood, but just occasionally I feel like I'm on my own.
So how about you? How would you describe your sense of humour? Do ppl usually 'get' it? MY COUSIN WORKS IN A PHARMACY AND SHE SAID THEY ENEMA'D PRANCE INTO OBLIVION WITH FENTONILS!! |

I feel this way often because I usually laugh at things that remind me of the past or an event that no else knows of , so if I joke about , they wouldn't understand. So in general, i just laugh out loud alone and everyone thinks I'm strange.. but fuck them |

I think I am hilarious. I can make myself cry with laughter. I don't have that effect on many other people though |

No, they don't! I was thinking about this the other day. Rarely does my humour get taken as such online.
I always get your humour Nick!
I find that with ppl in the UK, it takes them some time to realise that I am more sarcastic than them. They first think because I am American that I am not being sarcastic because everyone in the world assumes that American's have no sense of humour and certainly don't have the capacity to be sarcastic.
Some times I am the only one that gets my humour, that makes me so sad.

I think it's down to appearance too. You look all lovely and friendly and if I didn't know you at all, upon meeting you it would be easy to think you'd be just genuine and straight-up and nice, but not necessarily sarcastic and with a bit of an acerbic wit to you.

i aim to get at least 60% of people laughing, confuse about 30% and offend about 20%, with overlapping mixes of people who are confused and offended and laughing
as a result the jokes fly over the top of many peoples heads |

"well done" I think that is funny
It's just that if you have dry humor, people often don't know you are joking. I have misunderstood you once or twice, I know |

I'd say 80 percent of the people I've interacted with, can't tell when I'm joking, no.

I realize that some of my posts can seem brutal sometimes especially if someone doesn't know me very well. That's why I use a lot of ...." " .... symbols on the org, or simply the letters "lol" on facebook to show the reader that I mean no harm. If I'm dead serious or pissed, I don't use the symbols. Andy is a four letter word. |

I'm one of the most unfunny people on this planet, but people seem to laugh at me anyway.

Perhaps you are right. It is a combination of things really. I was raised to be polite, not curse & think before I talk. So many times something funny comes to mind but then I analyse it before I say it and feel bad. I am afraid if I say it, I might hurt someones feelings if they misunderstand what I say.
By the time I clean it up, it is no longer funny. In my next life, I am coming back a sexy bitch that can say anything! |

I tend to accuse people(ones I'm close with) of being the exact opposite of who/what they are. Calling mother theresa a prostitute would be a "for instance". Calling a skinny girl fat.
One time I jokingly calld my white girlfriend a racist. One: she was dating me. 2: her oldest son is bi-racial.
It didn't go over well with her. |

People with a sense of humour do.(Must understand irony to get me.) 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment |

I've had things like that happen through facebook too. If I knew how to copy and paste a thread I would.
I have a very childish sense of humour. Sometimes people don't get it. And sometimes they laugh anyway because i'm laughing.

I felt like this was a laughable exchange.
I'd say about half of the time people don't get my sense of humor. I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure
I layed down with love and I woke up with lies

I'm hysterical when I want to be, so yes.
The majority get me. Its the ashole side of me they
can't stand.
I find that 90% of the people who dislike me do so
because I don't share their opinions--it seems when you don't
agree with somebody they just can't live with that.
So when folks say I'm not funny they're mostly saying
he pissed me off at some point.
I'm hilarious. |
