UGH!!! I hate call waiting!!

Life was so much simpler without that damn feature! Every time I talk to a friend, she constantly puts me on hold. We can be in mid-sentence, then, the next thing I know, I'm on hold. Is there some type of call waiting ettiquite? I get sick of getting put on hold.

that IS annoying

I had it but asked phone company to turn that feature off.

Doesn't matter, nobody ever calls my house anyway lol

Though sometimes I admit it's useful when someone like mother in law calls to tell me about all her friend's health issues to be able to say "sorry got another call gotta go. Bye!"

I hang the person up also, but then they will call back and repeat the same process. It just pisses me off! mad

I wish I could remove it from my cell phone also! lol

Yeah, sometimes it is useful to say you gotta go. Especially when u r sick of talking to a person. I've done that a few times.

Sounds to me that you just need to stop answering the phone when or if the process keeps repeating itself. If I'm on hold for more than 30 secs I hang up. If they call back then it happens again, I'm still hanging up and then if they call again I'm not answering. You are wasting my time and my time is very precious. I think its inconsiderate to do that. Either get back to me after putting me on hold in a timely manner or just tell me you'll talk to me another time. It's that simple.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

The rule is when someone else calls you while on the phone, you politely ask the original phone call to wait why you take a message. Letting the second caller know that you will call them back. The second caller is to be called back-it's not meant to make the original caller wait why you finish conversation number 2.

Huh. I didn't even realize people still used call waiting. I kinda thought it was feature tied to the answering machine age. These days you don't really need it because the call just goes to your voice mail. Learn something new everyday. lol

My ex used to put me on hold all the time! I always hung up, then he'd call me back asking why I didn't stay on the phone confused

I've been doing that recently. This particular person that I'm speaking of is really going through a lot lately and I'm trying to be a good friend, but to keep repeating this process works my nerves. She acted as if I pissed her off when I didn't answer her call (after she had put me on hold twice). At this point, I don't care.

People are foolish and selfish these days. I don't know why they expect others to suck their asshole when they don't give the same respect back in return. I'm done with dealing with dumbasses. Especially folks who say they are going to call you then never do...you see them again the next week, "oh i'm going to call you when I get home"...oh really, like you was supposed to last week? Don't bother. If you can't do what you say you going to do then you lose all credibility with me.

I AGREE!

I know several people (a lot of them are family, oddly enough) that do this. I just look at them when they say that. SMH!
