Funny story but kinda messed up... I felt bad for about two seconds but I still had to laugh.
So I'm walking back to the office from the local Starbucks (I work in Beverly Hills) when I pass by these two women who had walked about half a block from the opposite direction with stroller and shopping bags in tow, yapping happily away, when one of them squealed at the other, "oh my god the stroller is empty." They then proceeded to run back (in the direction that I was walking to) to the cafe where they apparently had just had their lunch and where they, unfortunately, left the toddler (probably a year old) in the restaurant high-chair. The mom was clearly distressed at her fuck-up but her friend felt free to laugh and I finally had to laugh too. It was fucked up but funny as hell. I think its laughable so long as they remembered quickly, felt bad about it and ran back to get the kid. If I was her friend I definitely would have laughed. Now, if it had been long enough for the kid to freak out, the cops to be called, or worse - somebody else took the kid, that I would not have laughed at. | |
