What movies are you waiting for?

With the Summer here (for us Northern Hemispherians anyway) and the blockbusters well underway...what movies are you excited (or even just remotely interested) in seeing?

question

It's not going to be a 2011 summer movie (or a blockbuster, for that matter), but I've been waiting 5 years for the "Arrested Development" movie.

I am actually interested in going to see 'Captain America'. boxed

Chris Evans is a tool and I had no interest in seeing it, but the teaser trailers have me thinking it may be worth the ticket purchase price. I'm a comic book geek so you can best believe that I'm dying for the Avengers movie to get underway!

I also want to see 'Crazy, Stupid, Love'. No need to explain.

sigh

For whatever reason, I want to see 'Cowboys & Aliens'. nod

Then there's this Norwegian film playing in NYC (still?) called 'Trollhunters' that I really, really want to go see.

Maybe this weekend...

Captain America is the only remaining blockbuster I want to see.

If all goes according to plan, the next four films I plan on seeing at the cinema are all indies:

The Tree - Charlotte Gainsbourg's latest movie

Tabloid - Documentary about former Miss Wyoming, Joyce McKinney

Beats Rhymes & Life - A Tribe Called Quest documentary

Sarah's Key - WWII drama starring Kristin Scott Thomas

None, really. I was really looking forward to The Deathly Hallows but other than that, I'm rarely excited about movies.

I only go to the cinema for the food. woot!

You'll have to explain that.

Around here..."cinema food" means stale, overpriced popcorn and rubbery hot dogs.

I have high hopes for the second Superman reboot. The cast is pretty awesome, especially if they got/can get Russell Crowe to play Jor-El.

Henry Cavill of The Tudors. Amy Adams is Lois Lane. Michael Shannon (who is fantastic in Boardwalk Empire) is playing General Zod. Julia Ormond plays Supes' mama, Lara. And the Kents are played by Kevin Costner and Diane Lane.

Directed by Zack Snyder. Produced by Christopher Nolan.

Man of Steel: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0770828/

Batman and Superman are going to dominate 2012.

Hadn't heard of that. I assume it's a reboot or something? Surely Mel Gibson isn't reprising this role???

He WAS supposed to reprise his role but then he changed his mind. Then they wanted him to still star in it, but let a younger actor play Max Rockatansky. After that, they decided to drop Mel completely. I still would love to see Mel playing an older version of Max though...I think he´s the only one for that role, no matter how fucked up his rep is these days.

The whole project has been in the making for more than a decade now. Tom Hardy is supposed to play Max now. But I have my doubts. I´d rather see Mel in that film, and I´d rather see Arnold make a comeback as King Conan instead of seeing some skinny dude play Conan in the reboot.

I'm not familiar with Tom Hardy's acting (I know he's playing Bane in the next Batman) so I hope he can do the role justice.

AND I agree with you on Conan. That dude is twice my size, but nowhere near as big as he needs to be to play Conan the Barbarian.

hmph!

Just yesturday I was trying to find out what happened to the german movie "Transfer" (try looking that up in google) it's in my Netflix que to save, date unknown, shrug

The other movie I thought was coming out during this summer has been pushed back to November, Immortals. And I think Conan is due out but I haven't checked to see if it's been pushed back too. So pretty much waiting for next year. Oh yeah, Dredd, may be due this year, and another Karl one, forgot the name set in New Orleans this year maybe. Thought Blair Underwood was coming out with one but I can't find it right now sigh

So basically, you should stop WANTING to go see any more movies, lest they get later release dates.

Oh, not the food in the cinema. There's this really delicious place right outside. My friends and I always eat there before watching the movie. nod
