I bought a couple of DVDs from a trash and treasure market for my kids, except they didn't watch it because for the longest time Oscar thought it was called Battle of the Plants, which in his opinion sounded very boring (although they LOVED that french movie about plants and insects, Microcosmos I think Kristin Scott Thomas narrates english dub) | |

there are some good ones out now!
The Simpsons will always be king.
Fairly Oddparents is brilliant.
The current Avengers on Hub is bad ass, as is the Iron Man series.
Aqua Teen, Boondocks, and Archer are really great.
I miss Teen Titans and Dexter's Laboratory.

What's weird is all of the best cartoons of today aren't even for kids. Family Guy, Boondocks, Everything on Adult Swim, Cleveland Show, South Park, etc. are all geared towards adults. Even the best anime are all adult humor, language & action, even nudity in some. As a kid I loved those Hannah Barberra cartoons...'Magilla Gorilla', 'Catch That Pigeon', 'Space Ghost', etc. Also the 'Justice League', 'Jetsons' and the 'Flintstones' were favs.
In the 80s I used to watch 'Thundercats', 'Transformers', 'G.I.Joe' and 'Voltron',

Saturday mornings was the shit growing up in the 60's/early 70's! They don't make 'em like this anymore. The original Johnny Quest was probably the greatest cartoon series of all time - cool characters(Race Bannon), great art, kickass soundtrack, scary villians and you actually saw death onscreen. |
