This is going to be dinner tonight! :D I was so close. Instead I made the tomatoes, cucumbers and feta cheese into a salad with red onions, black olives and champagne vinaigrette. So refreshing!

I used to buy it almost daily in the summer for lunch... I would buy it from a little cafe that sold the BEST scones.
I tried lots of new things there, since then I haven't had any... Tinaz made me look up the recipe, so in two days Imma be grubbin'.
Its zesty and satisfying without making you feel like you had a heavy meal. You eat it cold too, PERFECT for a hot day.

I am growing lavender out mu windowbox just for that damn tea.
I like it though... good stuff, lavender is also good on grilled pork chops, and on fish....smells divine when you cook with it.

May I suggest a Korean dish called bibimbap? It's a load of vegetables mixed together with an egg and red pepper sauce. The idea is mixing it altogether. It's delicious and healthy. There's Joy In Expatriation.

I'm probably too late for this time, but next time consider Panzanella Salad. I had it for the first time when I was in Umbria, Italy last month and it was so delicious! There are hundreds of recipes online; I just copied this one from epicurious.com.
Panzanella (Bread & Tomato Salad) Serves 4 to 6 Can be prepared in 45 minutes or less.
*3/4 pound day-old crusty peasant-style whole-grain bread, cut into 1-inch cubes (about 6 cups) - I'm thinking you might also be able to use croutons if you wanted. *2 large tomatoes (about 1 pound), trimmed and each cut into 8 wedges *3/4 cup sliced unwaxed cucumber *1/2 cup sliced red onion *1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil *2 tablespoons red-wine vinegar *10 fresh basil leaves, shredded
In a serving bowl stir together the bread, the tomatoes, the cucumber, the onion, the oil, the vinegar, the basil, and salt and pepper to taste until the salad is combined well.
[Edited 7/20/11 21:41pm] The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

The best thing ever is rotisserie chicken from the grocery store. It's already cooked, so you don't have to heat up your kitchen at all to make a good, protein-based meal. Just strip the chicken and dress the meat with a dressing of mayo, yogurt, lemon juice (or vermouth), mustard, fresh herbs, and salt and pepper. Throw in some fresh veggies (green beans, sugar snap peas, broccoli, carrots, sweet red pepper are all good choices) and serve it on a bed of lettuce.
Delicious, healthy - and cool! We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
