Has The Org Changed U As A Person???

Right i was a fan of the org years b4 eye joined it then after such a long wait eye joined then got a month ban 4 being angry/aggressive/sexist/ and very misunderstood.Eye wanted 2 jump in2 my laptop & have every1!!!!!The anger eye felt was so real 2wards orgers?????People eye didnt even know??People eye was never going 2 meet, people that were never going 2b friends with me!!!On reflection eye was an utter twat!!!!The org then was like walking in2 a crowded pub and every1 makes it clear they dont like u so u glass them!!!!!!!!!But after my ban eye made many good friends and eye feel my personality has changed????Its very rare eye get angry anymore even when other orgers try 2 provoke me,ive got 2 a stage where its just funny so eye laugh it off and move on.Eye now have more male friends on the org than here in the uk,Im sure im boring the pants of some of u & will get the "stopped reading ur post after 5 words"2 those orgers nana ....eye dont care.Eye just wanted 2 say that being on the org has made me a much nicer person and the org notes i get realy lift me.....Have any other orgers noticed a change in there personalities, good or bad while being on the org,has the org made them better people or worse in some way????.

I've been here so long now I don't remember how things were pre-org dead
Looking back over our home movies I think I used to be uncool and not care about my appearance very much, not that I had the time with 3 kids under 5. I think all that photowhoring has made me feel more confident about myself. The org is a nice supportive bunch who I now honestly can't live without!

I would say it has aided in changing my prospective on a thing or two, which may have adjusted how I might handle some things, but I'm still the person I've always been.

Sure.

* It's made me more probing on certain questions.

* It's helped me to see and appreciate things from a global perspective.

* It's broadened my knowledge and tastes in music.

* It's been a record of where my head's been over the past 8 years, so that I can see areas of my own evolution.

* Some folk here have been supportive and encouraging at difficult moments, helping to strengthen my faith and confidence in myself and other people.

* Some folk here have needed me to be supportive and encouraging at difficult times, helping me to find out what I'm made of when I must "walk it like I talk it."

Clearly, though, it hasn't helped me to be less long-winded and sentimental. confused

For the first few years on the Org I pretty much just lurked around a bit. I honestly joined for the prince info. nod

Then somehow this quirky site got into my bloodstream, not unlike my caffeine addiction. I found myself logging on daily.

It did not change me, but when my life twisted all on its own & forced me to change as a person, I discovered that this place became a haven for me. A respite from the chaos. A forum for me to VENT and (thankfully) receive words of encouragement & advice.

So the Org did not necessarily change me as a person, but it was a sort of catalyst that I utilized in my (still ongoing) change.

It developed a little bit of my sense of humor and taught me it's okay to be an asshole in moderation, cause Prince is too funny when he is, and so are all of you lol

And album and music recommendations in the music section helped too

Yes.

I've gotten introduced to a lot of great music on the music:non-prince forum and some of that stuff has had a big impact on my life. The type of music I am currently listening to always sets the mood for a current period and even influences many of the life decisions I've made (not least because I've worked in a recording studio and studied music as well).

I've been on the prince fan sites since the mid-90s, so it's hard to tell what my life would be like without ever starting to visit them in the first place.

When I refrained from a great part of my social life I went to the org. Therefore the org played an important role in my life for that period.

I needed to do some serious soulsearching and orgers challenged me on my filtered views. Thank you. I like the confrontations and the things I had to learn about myself.

The divorce-music thread still is a warm memory for me. There were great orgers who supported me during my divorce hassle.

I used to walk away when I didn't like somebody, here on the org I learned to apreciate the orgers for who they are.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

I don't know if anything significant has happened to me on the org that would facilitate a change in my personality.

I can say that there are things that I definitely appreciate about the org.

  • orgers with a sense of humor
  • orgers supporting orgers during rough times
  • orgers who find out about Prince info and post it, so I don't have to put forth any effort
  • and most important - the orgers that I've met IRL - y'all are the best!
