Hell yes, it scares me because I don't know for sure what will happen after I die. Will I go to Heaven immediately? Will I go to Hell immediately? Will I just sleep until the Second Coming and then be judged as to my future? Or what if I've been wrong and God doesn't exist? I'd hate to be asleep forever.

When I was in my 20's I went thru a "phase" where I was preoccupied with trying to come to grips with the CONCEPT that one day I will cease to be. That my consciousness will no longer exist. It was around the time that I began to lose my religion.

Now it's barely a fleeting thought. And unfortunately, when it IS a consideration lately, it's been because I want death to just hurry up and take me.

(Not really...just on those really, really bad days).

I think that in general...the older you get, the less it freaks you out.

I'm only scared of getting trapped in a confined space and drowning (ala what happened in Casino Royale )...

but I'm also an idiot so I go sailing alot and there's always the risk of going down with the boat...

No. Not anymore.

I'm not scared of dying.

I am however, scared of dying alone. The thought of such a prospect terrifies the shit out of me.

Death is for certain. I just hope in my case, I'm able to fulfill most of what I'd like to accomplish before that time comes....

Exactly. I know one day I will not be alive but that day won't be today. So until that mystical magical day comes I'm going to live each day to the fullest.

We are born to die.....it doesn't scare me, now 'dying', that does.

I think about my destination after death a lot. I pray over it. But I know I'm good to go.

The fact that my wife can't figure out what she believes makes me very sad. I cannot fathom how anyone could be more concerned about this life than they are the next - which is eternal. This life is merely a road leading to it.

and when i do, i plan to stay gone.

awesome. but in certain religions. it all depends on your karma. if you have to bad karma you get demoted or upgraded if you have good karma. seriously thought i would be a pigeon too cause they like own cities..

Haha, yeah, but he was just trying to be a jackass. We're muslims so we don't believe in past lives.

But I think it's interesting, anyways, which was why I was asking him. I have a Hindu friend who was talking to me about this and I just thought it was something to think about, whether or not you believe in reincarnation.
