Women Have you Stop Bleaching or Coloring Your Hair and Manicuring Pedicuring Facials because of the Economy?

I usually Manicure Pedicure every 2 weeks. And I still do the same with Hair and Facials.

It's funny, but usually make-up and beauty products sell well during bad times. People don't take vacations away but they still want to treat themselves.

I never color my hair anyway because when it gets wet, it doesn't feel real when it has coloring in it. I don't know if everyone is like that. It makes me want to cut it... so I stopped doing that. Now I get to pluck grey hairs on my part which has thankfully not yet gotten out of control. i figure one day it will just take over and by then it wont matter anymore.

I have over 100 bottles of nail polish and never paint my nails. I don't like the way it feels.... not that I haven't worn it.

I was going to paint my nails with them with all the clothes I never wore... but now i just do kooky shit like find keys and paint them. Actually don't do that. I don't have time to do things like that.

I would give them to the little neighbor girl like all the glitter pens I gave her but you don't give nail polish away.... right? You can't share that....besides they are old.... from back when i could actually shop. I mean, over half of it has never been used but who knows which half?

...which reminds me of what I really need to be doing... throwing stuff away. i wish I could make use of everything. that's why it's so hard.

As for being a minimalist... the recent past has proven my ability to be quite a minimalist. I've gotten very good at it, only slipping recently with tobacco purchases and a few other things I should not buy.

If I had loads of money I would probably still not wear a lot of makeup. I like very light make up... maybe dark or dramatic lipstick. I bought some stain lately and feel very guilty about it.... not really for spending the money but because I don't use it as much as I would have liked to because it is not comfortable.

I have not bought clothes in ages. i am a horrible horrible dresser by choice. i have known this for quite some time and it has all been completely by choice. I am just tired of buying clothes i never wear... so i dress very practicle. pants or jeans, mens or womans shoes usually black, undershirt, mens button down shirt over it.... like I am very very casually going to work in the most regular job possible. I plan on wearing these clothes out. Yes, being poor can make you become tight fisted as hell.

OOO... I almost forgot... as if I could have forgotten to add something to that. neutral

I recently purchased a home laser that cost 5-600 and you have to buy cartridges all the time soooo....

You'll rarely see a bigger penny pincher than me but some things DEFINITELY remain of uttmost importance even in the hardest of times....so there are many different ways to look at this.

If given the choice to return it... nope. Not a chance.

Had a pedi once & my nails broke off and did a facial and work up with red blotches, so I don't do either. If I tried to color my hair, I would look like Carrot Top.

I have pianist hands. Small, long fingered hands, with short nails. I can't have false nails cuz they make terrible clicking noise on the keys. Aside from a nice hand cream and some nail polish now and then, I don't do much with my nails.

I do my own pedi's and my own hair (I don't trust stylists).

Never died my hair, except for red henna. I like my black hair, thank you...

nod I have the impression they always sell well and always will. No matter how bad the economy might be (most) women will still get their hair done and buy cosmetics. And that's good.

I do my own mani / pedi ~ saves tons ... only once in a great while will I pay someone else to do them

Facials ~ always do my own with fresh homemeade stuffs

A good freind helps me ( sometimes ) with Henna on my hair for CHEAP

and I get my hair cut every 3 months or so on the dark moon ~ again a GOOD friend with a killer salon cuts me a great deal

I still have a job (just got a raise, in fact), so why would I cut back?

There are people whose livelihoods depend on me getting "did." So I do. shrug

I do my own nails, hair, facials. I save alot of money that way. 20/20 had a segment about people getting infections from getting their nails done at a salon. Some of those place are not very sanitary.
