What do you think about HBO Go? I like to watch DVDs of my fave tv series when I work out at home everyday. I was recently considering dropping a grip on more DVDs when I realized that HBO now offers all of their series online on HBO Go. This is a great opportunity for me to finally see many great series that I didn't have the bandwidth to watch when they first aired like The Wire, Six Feet Under, and Rome and rewatch the Sopranos . . . all for FREE.
But it made me think that if I had spent $100s on these DVDs I'd be pissed like a mug about this. So, tell me, if you bought DVDs of HBO shows are you mad?

I would if I did. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!
RIP Dick Clark, Whitney Houston, Don Cornelius, Heavy D, and Donna Summer.

True. They already made their money and now they can say " we're giving you something for free!". I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

I think I would be a wee bit upset. For now, a lot of those shows I just rent since I'm not a re-watcher of a lot stuff, once I know the end I'm pretty much done with it. Plus I think I'm adjusting to the age I'm living in. The whole first bought in VHS, then have to turn around and buy it on DVD now ya gotta turn around and buy the same thing on Blu-Ray (of couse they'll give you those behind the scene extras, you just gotta have), all the while you know there's something else coming down soon. But yeah, the whole "I just spent a bunch of money and I could've got it for free" thing stings a bit.
A guy I work with refuses to pay, he borrows them from the library, I tried that a couple of times, came across some bad disc, I'm too impatient for that I'd rather rent or buy, then wait long periods of time for what I wanna see to become available (in good condition).
Maybe because it works so well for the cable companies with the whole on demand thing.

Even SATC is on there. I own the DVDs and I gotta say I'm a LIL salty.

I was thinking of getting Netflix to rent these shows but now that I know I can watch 'em for free . . . it's ON!
Now I gotta figure out how to set up my laptop in the gym so i can have a good view while working out.

It just came out recently maybe Canada is in the works. But I'm kinda surprised they would offer this free tho.

Hmmmm...so basically you don't need HBO on your tv;you can just go to HBO GO on your computer and watch any one of these series they offer for free, right?
I'm asking because I was thinking about cutting out some of my cable stations, to cut down on my bill. I rarely watch HBO or Showtime during the week, and only occasionally on the weekends, if I feel like watching a movie.

Nah, it's free if you have HBO already. I think you have to subscribe if you don't. I'm looking at it as free cuz i'm paying the same price for satellite and this is a new perk.

Oh okay, I didn't think so. I knew it was too good to be true. But thanks for letting me know. I'm thinking about going the Netflix route but haven't decided yet. The price of cable has gone up tremendously and is becoming more of a luxury these days, so I'm thinking of cutting back, but the stations I'm considering cutting, doesn't cut the bill much. So it's just a waiting game right now.

Already bought my favourite shows from HBO on DVD...some complete seasons.
But this is a great new perk for subscribers

I'm a Comcast cable subscriber when I download the Infinity App from iTunes, HBO GO App became a mute point. Though, it's really really really cool that you can watch your cable package anywhere. Now, I feel I'm getting my money's worth out of cable. I've been spending a lot of time at the hospital of late; it's nice to watch what you want and have choices rather than watching their lame TV.

I love hbogo. I just wish they could get it to work consistently on droid & ipads. I downloaded the apps on my phone & ipad. It worked great for a couple of weeks. Now it tells me I need to download the apps, but I can't because I already did and I can't unload it & reload it. I'm firmly planted in denial
