Netflix redesign

What do you guys think of the Netflix site now? The streaming instantly section is a mess! First of all, you can't sort anything now. So if you're looking for a horror, you have to scroll through pages of random movies until you find something. Can't sort by year, by title, by rating, etc.

Not only that, but when I click on a category of movies it is only showing movies I have already seen. It is not showing new, unseen movies. I know this because in the film-noir category I have watched all of the movies. The other day they added 3 new movies and only these 3 were showing. I checked it out an hour later and everything BUT these three were showing. I have no idea how to find these now.

It's just a mess now!

I just went there and in my re-organized recommendations is a category entitled, "Understated British movies based on a book." Not only inane - but grammatically incorrect! lol

OMG. They put "The Importance of Being Earnest" in "Classic Romantic Dramas"? It's a comedy, for chrissakes!

Now they are getting a lot of heat for jacking up the prices

I may just get rid of streaming altogether, it looks terrible anyway

I just got that email. I was like WTF, "to better reflect the cost of each"?? really?

Just send me an email tellin me the price is goin up, don't make it like it's due to something to benefit me. confused

We have pretty good streaming (better than at old house) cause it's plugged direct to our modem.

It's way too much money now to get just one dvd in the mail, I'm going with online streaming only, if I find I don't use it all that much, I'm cancelling!

Netlfix has been giving away the tv series and movies in some ways for free, and those guys that actually make and distribute want they're due income now. So in effect it's been like someone opening a ultra portable newstand in a new place and giving away the magazines and newspapers for free, making enough for themselves to buy a house.

Actors and writers have been striking for a while because they weren't being paid for new forms of distribution.

Now that the "newstand" is being to charged for what they were grabbing from the publishers and then giving away, the free customer base that was used to getting it free is unhappy with that charge then baing transferred to them. But people who make the movies don't care. They're not making this stuff as a public service or utility!

Most of the movies I've been interested in aren't even available for streaming on the Netflix website so I barely even used it.

What you're saying may be true, I just never asked for this new distribution model and did not want to pay for it.

I actually don't mind this new model. I was upset when they raised my cost a few months back becuase of my new "streaming" option that I did not want or use.

Now I have the option to cancel streaming and the price is pretty much back to where it was

I think that is exactly what they want you to do!

I assume it costs Netflix much more to send a DVD than to let you stream a movie, and they would like everyone to cancel the DVD option

Me too! But I rarely watch the streaming stuff. I just can't relax in front of a computer (though I know you can get it to stream on your TV in various ways)

Actually...considering the cost of bandwidth, they're probably close to being on par.

At any rate, I don't have a TV I can stream to. So I'll cancel that part - or drop Netflix altogether.

I'd say we stream maybe once a month. Maybe.

Since the streaming plan is less AND it's unlimited, I would guess that is not true

i did not know that. hell yeah raise the price, pay them.

i opted for the streaming only plan, which is a savings for me. i think the huge public reaction to th higher prices is overblown

Considering that one movie in the theater is 10 bucks.

Me either but my daughter uses that part of my membership...I just decided to keep that portion of it..Mail has become so slow in my area that it takes 4 days to get a movie anymore. I've been using Redbox to rent movies lately..
