L'il ol' me?
1) Do you go out to see live theatre? If so, what have you seen recently? I love to see live theatre. The last play I saw was "A Midsummer Night's Dream", a production put on by my college. 2) Do you go to the opera or enjoy classical music? If so, please elaborate. Aside from Mozart's Don Giovanni, I haven't really been to as many as I'd like. I'd love to see more. I LOVE classical music. I have five CD's of piano classics. My favourite composers are Frédéric Chopin and Claude Débussy.
3) Do you go to music festivals, recitals, or concerts? Seen any lately? Last night, I went to "Party In The Park" with a couple of friends and listened to some live music. I've been to many recitals, although most of them I was performing in. I was only at one concert in my life, and that was to see Bob Dylan in November of 2008.
4) Do you play any instruments, sing, or dance? Elaborate. I am classically trained in piano, and am working to getting a performer's (or teacher's) degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music here in Canada. I've taught myself the guitar, and I can play a little bass. I'm a soprano, I did sing opera at various points in my life. I dance, but don't consider myself a professional dancer.
5) Do you go to museums, art galleries to admire and enjoy the majesty of artistic creation? Do you have a favourite artist? I live close to the art centre here in town, and they have art from local artists on display there. When I was younger and lived back east, I caught a Renoir exhibit there. I have many favourite artists. I did study art in college, so currently I have a thing for Italian paintings... 6) How often do you travel and explore other cultures? If so, where to? I've travelled throughout the US, but I've never been to Europe. One of my dreams is travel throughout Europe. I've been to Israel though, and loved it there.
7) Do you make your own art?
I draw and paint. I especially like sketching portraits...

1) Do you go out to see live theatre?
No.
2) Do you go to the opera or enjoy classical music? If so, please elaborate.
I went to the opera once (years ago). Truth be told, I was bored to tears.
3) Do you go to music festivals, recitals, or concerts? Seen any lately?
I used to go see live music constantly, but virtually stopped attending shows several years ago. The last concert I saw was Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, in May '09.
4) Do you play any instruments, sing, or dance? Elaborate.
Guitar, keyboards, sing. But I've done very little of any of those over the past several years.
5) Do you go to museums, art galleries to admire and enjoy the majesty of artistic creation? Do you have a favourite artist?
No. Yes: Warhol.
6) How often do you travel and explore other cultures? If so, where to?
I don't. When I was younger, I dragged my bones to many far off lands.
7) Do you make your own art?
Depends on your definition of the word. I do the following out of habit:

...I should add that I watch a lot of TV (mainly reality, documentary and/or comedy), see Woody Allen movies, listen to some music and a heck of a lot of Howard Stern. To me, this is all "culture" and "art". | |
