Inserting advertising in tv reruns Hope this hasn't been posted before. I looked but did not see it. www.ew.com Entertainment Weekly is running a story on how advertisements for current movies are now being inserted into reruns. The show referenced in the article is "How I Met Your Mother." An example was given of a rerun originally aired in 2006 had an advertisement for "Bad Teachers", just resently released in the background. It is on the screen of the tv in the coffee house the characters are in. Maybe it's just me, but this is absolutely ridiculous! As if the public is not constantly bombarded by advertising! AND If they are inserting advertising, WHAT ELSE are they altering on tv and how long have they been doing it? I'm firmly planted in denial

I feel like we are already being suffocated by advertisements. Leave us alone, dammit! You can't go anywhere in this world without seeing an ad and I'm sick of it.

That is the truth, but IMHO,this borders on sinister. They are actually altering the original show to put these ads in. What else iseing altered. How long has this been going on? I'm firmly planted in denial
