So if I want to write something that I don't want kids to read, I can just write in script? Awesome! Much easier than looking for invisible ink.

I love texting. I hate talking on the phone. I rarely answer my cell when it rings. But I'll respond to a text in 0.05 seconds!
I love cursive, too, though.
When Jersey and I were long distance dating, I sent him long snail-mail love letters and poems in handwritten script, sprayed with perfume and sealed with old-fashioned wax w/ a heart-shaped stamp.
Yes, really.

...yeah I remember those days myself...
Although I was the one mailing all the poems.

See. That ungrateful ole bastid! He betta have saved erry one of those letters so when handwriting goes to the big pie in the sky, he'll have something to remember "the good ole days and ways" with his classy lady!"
Just kidding 'bout the ole bastid part. Love you guys!

For 99% of the time that I write, I use "drafting" lettering.
So I did a little test for this thread.
The script took me about 4 or 5 tries to get comfortable writing like that again.
The regular print was easier.
But the all-caps drafting style is what I'm more comfortable with. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

The "wtf?" is the best part.
I'll try to show mine when I get home. I have horrible writing if I'm not careful, but it's just messy. Yours looks like a little kid's. |

Yes. I use cursive almost exclusively, although I've adapted a few letters to my own so it's not exactly like how we were taught in elementary school.
I sometimes get compliments on my handwriting. Maybe I'll try to post a sample later tonight or this weekend. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I used to write in cursive all the time when I was little. I was quite impressed with how those guys from centuries ago used to do it but now I can't even do cursive right anymore.

Well, you have a "beautiful hand," at least in the second sample. I'm with you on the thrid! Strangley, it's similar to my own.

Cursive is still being taught over here. Government is trying to propose its cancelation, but I don't know why. I think writing in cursive is faster and personally, my handwriting in cursive is easier to read than my print. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Okay.
The first is the usual chicken scratch with which I write.
The second is my attempt at more legible print.
Third is obvioulsy cursive. Maybe I should start using cursive all the time.

I don't really have a set handwriting style anymore though. I alternate between about 4 or 5 styles depending on... well, I don't know really. One is quite close to my handwriting for most of my teen and adult years so I guess that's my normal handwriting, and it's in cursive, but I do non-cursive big round handwriting more, and angular styles sometimes, plus some with elements of calligraphy that I did as a kid. They're all quite different.
Like shanti0608, my wife and I still send letters by post to relatives, for thank-you cards and just newsy update letters. But your variety of styles started somewhere. My handwriting is all over the place; a real combination of print and cursive that can change from word to word, but I started learning to print, then write cursive. I'm firmly planted in denial
