There must be so much more to this story. Like, how is it this man is just now telling police about a sexual assault that occurred 2-3 months ago? And how are the marijuana and assault charges tied into this?

Can't imagine only 6 months old, and life already being so F'd up.

SILVERTON, Ohio - There are death threats and calls for the death penalty for a Silverton man who says he knew he was HIV positive when he allegedly raped a 6-month-old baby.

Police say the suspect, Lenny Love, Jr., confessed that he raped the baby.

Since the story broke, it was posted on a website called Mediatakeout.com and has now gone viral.

People are calling the Silverton Police Department from all across the nation to complain the suspect is being charged only with rape.

They want Love to be charged with attempted murder or even murder.

One caller from Mississippi told Silverton Dispatcher Reginald Chatman that he wanted to kill the suspect.

"Yes. Ya'll should charge dude with murder. Ya'll should kill his ---. I'll kill him if I ever see him," the caller said.

"I'm disgusted as a parent and as a teacher. These kids come to us. They survive and they're just messed up from the very beginning," said another caller.

The website posted the department's phone number and encouraged people to call police to complain about the charges of rape and felonious assault against the 29-year-old suspect.

"I was just calling to say he should be charged with murder or the death penalty," one woman said.

Dispatcher Chatman explained, "We can't charge anyone with murder unless someone has been killed, but we're still early in the investigation ma'am, so there could be more charges forth coming."

Chief Plummer says the website's report that the baby is HIV positive has not been confirmed.

"The calls that we're getting, they are very irate about how the police department is handling this. We're handling this the best way that we can. We're working hand in hand with the prosecutor's office to make sure he's charged properly."

People have called from all over including Boston, California, Miami, and Ontario, Canada.

Chief Plummer says he knows people are upset.

"You know what? I know he will get jail time. Give him general population and let them at him," one woman said.

Police say Love walked into the police station after someone encouraged him to do so.

Investigators say he confessed to the crime Saturday night.

He's being held on a $200,000 bond. The baby is receiving medical treatment.

Authorities say they haven't received a motive as to why the suspect allegedly attacked the baby.

Motive? He's a pervert. What fucking motive? Shit, what was his motive for waking up in the damn morning? People are who they are.

And wishful thinking on placing him in general population. They never put child rapists in GP on account of their personal safety being at risk.

I doubt he is a "pervert" - rape isn't a sex crime. And this very clearly was not about sex, but giving the child an uncurable disease he may die from. Perversion =/= rape.

Oh please! We are talking a 6 month old baby. Anybody who rapes a 6 month old infant IS A PERVERT! That is not up for debate IMO. There are many forms of perversion and raping an infant no matter the reason is a perverted and evil act. I hope his dick falls off and his blood boils and his brain swells to the point that his skull cracks and he drains from his nose, mouth and ears...and then....all of his supporters/followers/friends/sympathizers can suffer the same fate.

What Spinlight is trying to say is that rape is an act of violence, not a sexual act. It has more to do with weilding power to hurt his intended victim, that it does with having an orgasm. I don't think he is defending the rapist.

In the broad sense his is a "pervert," as a perversion is a concept describing those types of human behaviors that are a serious deviation from what is considered to be orthodox. Therefore, any violent behavior is an "perverted" act.

Another reason why I support the death penalty. And not the way it's currently administered. It needs to be painful and swift! The family of the victim should be allowed to participate if they wish.
