I think I am struggling with this issue because I was always known for my lovely hair. It was the only thing I used to get compliments on. Now I feel like I have had a bad hair day consistantly for about a year now.

You have perfect features for a hat. You'd look great in one.

I buy a bottle of Loreal Preference (Mega Reds~Medium Intense Copper Red) and mix it with a 20 volume developer. I've been going grey since 16 years old. I used to do it every 6-8 wks but now that I'm older, my roots seem to be growing faster and my temples are more stubborn. So I do it about every 4 weeks. My rule of thumb is if I can see the grey in pictures then it's time for me to get my roots done. Other than that, learn to love hats, headbands, comb overs...

Mine is probably about 60% white now and a total bitch to colour. It is shiny and healthy looking...I just hate the colour!! mad

Are you still blonde? I am hating my colour too. Our water is chalky and makes my hair dull and dry. Seriously, it is like straw. Grrr!

Maybe I do need a wig!

I'm very blonde now.

I may be the oddball in this thread... but I love my grey hair. I only am maybe about 5% grey. My hair grows out densely but the strands are very fine, so my curly hair looks like it has sparkles through out it when I wear it out. I dare not color it since my natural color always looks richer than any bottle color... I am a very dark brunette. Bottled dark brown hair color always looks flatter to me.

I used to be a colorist, so when my grey hairs grows in more I intend to keep them as white as possible by mixing a ph balanced shampoo w/ a level 10 creme peroxide to remove any yellowing in the grey hair... none of that blue shampoo shit for me, no thanks.

Most women who grey, should go lighter IMO... the skin and eyecolor lightens with age along with the hair greying up so all women should go lighter as they age.

Any color is nice as long as it...

A. Enchances your natural skin tone

B. Is applied properly and evenly

Also, going lighter makes it harder to see the demarkation line at the temples.

Not always. My grandma (at 94) has skin that is every bit as pink and lovely as it was when she was younger. And I haven't seen any change in my skin tone (I use the same shade of base I've used for years and it still blends perfectly).

It probably doesn't hurt to be pale to begin with.

My mom...well...she lives in Arizona, so she's always tan. lol

Damn you and this gray hair thread! You done jinxed me. A lady that works next door came in a little while ago and asked me to pose for a picture with a lady, as if I were her husband, for some presentation they were making. I asked her if she had any men in her office and she said yes but she needed a man with gray hair. Now, I knew I had plenty of gray in my hair but I never thought I had enough for my hair color to officially be considered gray. That made me feel so sick but I did get a good laugh out of it though. That someone thought that I could actually pass for somebody's husband. Those ladies must have been desperate over there. lol

Actually, you'd think my mom would actively work against a tan, as many bouts as she's had with skin cancer. But despite the fact that she wears sunscreen and a hat, she won't give up golf.

I don't really blame her, though. She has Parkinson's disease, so her golfing days are numbered, as it is.

I get 3-5 grey hairs in my bangs area, but I have some oil buildup too and it's from that area, maybe that's causing it. I do dye my hair, but I haven't in over a year so it's showing though it also camoflagues well with the light. I'm not going to dye it for the sake of it until I decide on which colour this time. I experience a lot of stress and deal with depression and worry all the time, maybe that's what led to it, and I'm only 28.

I have never smoked in my life, rarely drink and try to take care of myself. Sometimes it is in the genes.I have friends that are younger than me that are overweight, smoke and drink with not one grey hair.

I colour my hair regularly to cover the greys. But my natural colour is pretty boring, so i'd probably always colour it anyway.

I have used John Freida mousse - which was pretty good I thought, but quite expensive for a home colour. I also used Nice N Easy, which was aiiight. I'm actually colouring it tonight and will be using L'Oreal Sublime Mousse. It's new and i've never used it before. You can see the results when I see you on Sunday dancing jig yay! woot! martini

I used that Sublime mousse. BE very careful not to get it on ANYTHING! That shit stains really quick. It did not last for me but I think some of th problem I have is the really hard chalky water that we have here. It strips the colour out really fast.

I might still have these grey roots when you see me. I will be busy taking pics of your butt anyways.
