A Time-Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion Since 1945

Probably been posted before, but I didn't see it when I searched. Ran across this through a link on Radiohead's website.

Interesting... frightening. The beginning is a little slow, but that makes it all the more tense when they start showing up faster and faster. I actually think the second part, near the end, is the most frightening.

Well, in reality, only two of them were ever aimed at anybody. Of the 2053 that have gone off, 2051 of them were tests and chest thumping.

I'm not certain whether that's comforting or all the more troubling, honestly. neutral

As a child of cold war politics, its definitely more troubling for me. I hated growing up being taught/told about all this through fear campaigns. Most of my family still lives in a very nuclear active area (Livermore, CA) so I still think about it often.
