A woman died from a heart attack caused by shock after waking up to discover she had been declared dead - and was being prepared for burial.
As mourning relatives filed past her open coffin the supposedly dead woman suddenly woke up and started screaming as she realised where she was.
Fagilyu Mukhametzyanov, 49, had been wrongly declared deceased by doctors but died for real after hearing mourners saying prayers for her soul to be taken up to heaven in Kazan, Russia.

Devastated husband Fagili Mukhametzyanov, 51, had been told his wife had died of a heart attack after she'd collapsed at home suffering from chest pains.
Mr Mukhametzyanov said: 'Her eyes fluttered and we immediately rushed her back to the hospital but she only lived for another 12 minutes in intensive care before she died again, this time for good.
'I am very angry and want answers. She wasn’t dead when they said she was and they could have saved her.'
Hospital spokesman Minsalih Sahapov said: 'We are carrying out an investigation.'

Wow, that's insane...how could something like that happen? I'm guessing they do not embalm in Russia? Did the physicians not test her vitals? Whoa.

I would be freaked out too. And I was surprised that she woke up at the funeral thinking that if they embalmed her, that wouldn't be possible. But I guess they do things differently in Russia.

What a strange story...very hard to believe

And I for one don't believe it.

Not as horrible as the story here in the USA a few years back of an elderly lady waking up AS SHE WAY BEING EMBALMED!!!

...needless to say the poor old lady did not survive either.

This is not unusual at all!....many bodies have been exhumed & when the coffin lid was taken off it has been covered with scratch marks!!!with the nails of the deceased with wood fragments in them!!!! Then in mortuaries workers have heard babies crying & yes.........they werent dead!!Its spooky but it happens!!!!My fear would b 2 wake up seconds b4 im due 2b cremated....F**KME!!!!!

Those doctors and the funeral preparer are not very educated it would seem. Guess you better not fall into a deep sleep while vacationing in Russia.

I read about those once...they were the rage in the Victorian(?) era when people were obsessed with being buried alive.

Nowadays, you can just opt for the cell phone feature with your coffin;

Guess I'll add to my medical directive: 'DO NOT EMBALM OR PREPARE FOR BURIAL UNTIL DECAY SETS IN!!!'
