Help Matt with his hair

Okay, I'm considering changing the style of my hair, because it's been about five years since my last major change. Tomorrow I'm making an appointment with a quality hair salon (as opposed to the walk-in places I've been using ever since I moved to this city) to get some good professional advice. However, I'm also entertaining ideas from .orgers.

This is what my hair looks like now:

(Note: that "notch" in my bangs in not intentional--I probably had been running my fingers through my hair.)

One important consideration: I work as a litigation attorney. And while our office dress code is casual, I occasionally have to go to court. I don't want anything that a judge might frown upon or otherwise find distracting. So please don't suggest a purple Mohawk. smile

Your suggestions are welcome and greatly appreciated. Thanks!

To Christopher: Bleaching is definitely out. My dark eyebrows would be the giveaway that it's fake.

To the always-fashionable NuPwrSoul: Thanks for the links! Looks as if I've got some reading to do. smile

Bleaching doesn't look bad with dark eyebrows. My brother's been doing it for 3 years and it looks great on him.

first you gotta lose the Jim Carrey fringe out of 'Dumb and Dumber'.bleach it, colour it, get it clipped to a 3 or 4 length.

just lose that fringe!

I've always considered that hairstyle to have some Hanniganesque falseness to it. Lose it and you'll gain the legal integrity of Daniel Benzali.

Agreed, shave it off!

Men with time to worry about hairstyles have too much free time on their hands. Shave your head and forget all that nonsense. You never have to worry about it being messy in the morning, it is easy to maintain, and washing your head in the shower is easy.

Baldness is the way forward. Of course you'll need to invest in a woolly hat in winter time.

Alternatively, for that 'legally innocent' look in court, grow it long and get some 'minor' facial surgery instead. Apparently you only need the two ops, and you save on hairdressing costs too. I could mock a picture up for you, but I've seen this image all over the place in the last seven days.

Go for the Shane Battier Buzz cut.

Do not have any plastic surgery done. Your facial features are perfect as they are. Maybe some Malcom X style frames would give you that And Justice For All quality in the courtrooom.

A perfectly shaved head is actually more work, cuz you have to shave it constantly. Might has well have a George Michael stubble on your cranium like Shane Battier.

Well yeah obviously keeping it shiny and smooth takes maintenance. But it's not THAT much work (and anyway you can just have it stubbly and shave once a week)

I never knew that. You didn't strike me as the moustachioed type (or however you spell it). But since you are going for the butch thing, it makes sense biggrin

Its not really long enough to do all that much with but I would suggest losing the bangs...they're a bit harsh for your face...something with lines that were less harsh would be more flattering

Get rid of the Prince Valiant look. It doesn't suit you. Get it styled short and conservative and then let it grow out a little longer. That way when you need to go to court you can just blow dry it a bit. But, when you're just hanging out and being casual you can use some gel or mousse to spike it up a little or something.
