mmm, Salma. I already knew this, but held back from posting a thread on it 4 fear that my Salma Hayek fanaticism would hurt the thread's credibility. Thanx Purple Jedi, 4 making it real... I know I didn't dream it. I hope that overrated Nicole Kidman doesn't walk away with this one 2...(like the Globes)...

Salma Rules. I've seen this movie three times, plan on taking my mother next weekend, and I can't wait to buy the DVD!!! I loved it that much.

I've stated before that FRIDA was my fav picture in the last year...seen it 3 times...took my mamma and my friendz...I plan to see it again and again! I did state in another thread that as much as I want to see her win...the jaded Academy will probably give it to Nicole K...she was nominated last year for MOULIN ROUGE and won praise for THE OTHERS...I'm sure the Academy feels like they may 'owe her one'... Whatever happens...I'm proud of Salma and only wish her greater success and that she continues to make wonderful movies. I've forgiven her for 'Wild Wild West'!! MISTERMAXX, FOR THE UNINFORMED... Could you please explain the definition of 'thick'? I understand the word can mean either a) chunky/heavy or, b) foolish/gormless. But I suspect your explanation could be different. Thanks in advance. My two euros

ENJOY! MUCHAS GRACIAS SEÑORITA. What a diverting thread even if a little confusing at times!  There's a myriad of definitions which appear to vary across gender, culture, even individually. But the overall impression I receive paints the word as a positive description.

In the U.K if you call somebody thick it generally means you are calling them stupid.

Her acting was tight. Did you even SEE the movie? She convincingly portrayed the anguish that Frida had to endure throughout her life...and her free spirit as well. She was perfect for that role. It fit her like a glove...(or that red dress in the pic above!). By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! | |
