Lisa, don't buy one. I will give you ours! I have been trying to think of a good home for it. It is massive so you can make all sorts of family meals in it.

Now, how will I get it to you?

hmmm

I don't mind BBQ meat, but as I was explaining to someone today, I prefer things with meat IN IT

like:

stroganoff, goulash, curries etc

I thought I was doing the right thing by cutting back my red meat intake, but doc says no.

I'm on iron supplements until another blood test in September, to see if that makes any difference, how I am LOSING all my iron needs to be investigated in the meantime.

No, you don't need a slow cooker. My husband makes the best stroganoff and goulash. It is best to use good cuts of beef. We get ours from the local butcher. Never comes out chewy.

I used to have this amazing cast iron casserole

but to buy another one would cost a lot more than a slow cooker ($300+), and it would sit simmering on a gas flame all day, and you can't leave the house with a naked flame on, but a slow cooker you can set and forget and still go and do stuff.

I lost my good chicken thigh recipe for the crock pot. It was similar to this one. The chicken will just fall off of the bone.

Do you like Hummus? The sesame seeds are high in iron.

Also dried herbs as well.

Do you like beans? You could make a crock pot chilli filled with ground beef & lots of different types of beans.

I like beans, but kids don't, no point making enough food for 12 if only 2 of us eat it confused

Just pop some iron tablets, they will work a lot quicker than a slooow cooker.

I've been on them a week ready, but the doc says I can't be on them forever and that I need to manage this on my own by the end of the year.
