I don't like rats either but I'm much more afraid of cockroaches for the simple fact that there could be one sitting on your should right now and you wouldn't know unless you looked or touched it.

I live in NYC and I don't see no shit like that...maybe a rat or 2 running on the tracks but that's it but THAT was like that scene out of Creepshow...

Exactly...he sprays in the hole and when they start swarming he busts out the tape. So much for clearing up that problem.

The presence of a service professional and the sheer reaction of people there kind of suggest to me this event is an aberration -- one that doesn't characterize public transportation in all of that city, let alone all of Japan.

Anyway, given the carnival of horrors -- scurrying insects of all sorts, trapped and pissed-off birds, the stench of body fluids, the sight of bodily fluids, crackheads, religious zealots, rats the size of Schnauzers, etc. -- I endure every time I travel in, say, New York City's subway system, roaches seem darned lightweight to me.

I saw a daggone cayote IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD ..just last night. but i remember those days of wine n roaches...

i'd be soo embarrassed, they would crawl out of my purse at work when i about 19-20. we were in an apartment at the time but daddy paid an exterminator..

..I sure do miss him.......................R.I.P. Popa...

Trust me...I see the rats AND roaches too because I live in NYC but maybe 2 or 3 at time. Not once have I ever seen an infestation like that here {yes here in NYC} but it probably grosses me out more because I'm terribly afraid of cockroaches.
