cry disbelief

Heifer whines could be human cries
Closer comes the screaming knife
This beautiful creature must die
This beautiful creature must die
A death for no reason
And death for no reason is MURDER

And the flesh you so fancifully fry
Is not succulent, tasty or kind
It's death for no reason
And death for no reason is MURDER

And the calf that you carve with a smile
Is MURDER
And the turkey you festively slice
Is MURDER
Do you know how animals die ?

Kitchen aromas aren't very homely
It's not "comforting", cheery or kind
It's sizzling blood and the unholy stench
Of MURDER

It's not "natural", "normal" or kind
The flesh you so fancifully fry
The meat in your mouth
As you savour the flavour
Of MURDER

I can't see how a cut up corpse can look tasty in any way , shape or form

I find it disgusting and truly gruesome

If you'd cut up a human being and cook it it'll look the same

(ok done now with this thread smile

Lisa, don't buy one. I will give you ours! I have been trying to think of a good home for it. It is massive so you can make all sorts of family meals in it.

That might work if we could figure out how to meet up in the car park. It is nice, black & silver. Only a few years old, hubby bought it for me when I moved here because I had to give away the one I had in the US. You will just have to promise to think of me every time you use it. wink

Be like Popeye and eats yer spinach.

Liver, as disgusting as it is, is also good for boosting iron levels.

Yeah, that was a big help.

You'd have to eat a lot of spinach to get enough iron to make a difference. The way it's bound makes it very difficult for the body to access.

Heme iron (the kind in meat) really is a more efficient way of boosting your levels.

Eat a rare steak with orange juice. The vitamin C in the juice helps the body absorb the iron from the meat.

Just pop some iron tablets, they will work a lot quicker than a slooow cooker.

I've been on them a week ready, but the doc says I can't be on them forever and that I need to manage this on my own by the end of the year.

Aye, he will be right.

All I know is that for slow cooking you want fattier meat.

Lean meat gets too tough apparently

I used to have a crockpot recipe for pork stew and a bbq pork from scratch that I loooved, but I lost them, I pretty sad about it. Still have my recipe for turkey loin stew, I think I'll be fixing this week. I don't use my crock as much as I use to but I used the heck out of it when I was using it. I only tried the 40 garlic chicken once, not a good idea.
