here is my theory, by the time wrestlemania comes around, i highly doubt cena will be champ 2 face the rock, reason why? simple. there has to be a championship match from the raw side at wretlemania otherwise a wrestlemania with only the smackdown championship match? really? seriously?

i'm hoping punk wins on sunday but as he also said as it was going off "is the fix in?" no fucking reason HHH should be in the match as a referee. if anything, i would have though cena and punk would have both bitched out HHH and stupid ass gomer plye for even being in the ring at the time

Oh, there's no way in hell Cena's going to have the title by WM. Because if he did, everyone's going to know Cena will go over for the match because there's no way The Rock would win and get the title since The Rock is really only back for this one match and a couple of appearances leading up to it. Of course, I think we all know Cena's winning anyway, just because he's the now and in the future, and The Rock's the past. Plus, Rock's got no problems putting people over. He laid down for them all: Goldberg, Lesnar, Jericho, Austin, Triple H, Foley, Booker T. See, he has no problem losing to folk to put them over, unlike a few on that list and not.

I think Punk probably will win, and Trips will "accidentally" help give him the win. And then on Raw the next night, Del Rio picks up the pieces from whoever wins the Mysterio/Champion match and gets the title then. I HOPE it doesn't pan out that way, but you know WWE. Either way, there was no need for Trips to insert himself into this match. It's epic on its own, and it's just another ego rub for Mr. Stephanie McMahon.

i had 2 laugh when they said that rey was invoking his rematch clause and i gues R Truth didn't have one in his then huh? and if rey had a "contract signing" for the match against cena, gee how come they didn't get in the ring and "sign" the contract?

damn they really thingk fans are dumb

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Lol! I was laughing at that too. They wanna talk about everybody evoking their "rematch clause", yet Truth STILL hasn't sniffed the title since his one and only match for it, nor have they had him ask for a rematch, either. Like you said, they think we're dumb. Shit, they only gave Truth the match in the first place to shut "us" (and you know who "us" is) up and say one of our own did indeed have a chance.

Truth is 30 times more over than Alberto Del Rio ever could think of being, yet they keep giving him the keys to the kingdom. I mean, damn. Is the Latino dollar THAT heavy where they're pinning their hopes on him ALL the time to bring in more from that market? Truth has been the most consistent and enjoyable thing on Raw for the past 3-4 months, but they're only going to give him "Santino status". He'll get mic time as a goof and comic relief, but that's about it. At least give him the fuckin' US Title, cuz Dolph Ziggler ain't doin' shit with it!!!

These faux contract signings are stale. It's crazy because just Thursday, TNA had one for Sting and Kurt Angle and then yesterday, there was one for Punk and Cena

The same thing happens with them. We know what's gonna go down, so why have them?

Yeah, and which contract signing was light years better than the other??! Nobody even cared for that Sting/Angle match, so I find it funny they thought people would care for them signing the contract to be in the match that no one gave a shit about. disbelief

But, the whole thing of a physical confrontation always happening at a signing was just brought up by Punk last night, and when he said that they "had" to entertain for a few minutes prior to signing, I just knew we were in for quite a treat! They need to, by the way, show a lot more of that Rock promo on Cena sometime soon. Or at least advertise it a bit more. I don't even think WWE ever acknowledged that he ever did one on Cena until last night. I mean, WTF?? I'm also hoping we get treated to a Rock/Punk feud before he 100% leaves wrestling again after Wrestlemania. It does seem they're planting the seeds for it/ You agree?

Exactly. No different than when Miz was champion. If you getting paid i don't think you

give a fuck about the fans who boo you. I think Cena even mentioned that last night.

Rock should just shut the hell up and work on Tooth Fairy 2 until the next wrestlemania.

His corny ass lines are so 2003. He seems to be all on Cena's dick right now for whatever

reason. Maybe the Rock is missing the spotlight. I'm no huge Cena fan but love him or

hate him he is the face of the company and has worked his ass off to be where he is.

Rock calling Cena a phony. Really? Aren't all you guys glorified entertainers in the WWE?

Maybe Im too nit picky but the thing that I dont get is how WWE is stressing that there are two "legitimate" champions in Punk and Cena.

Cena lost the title to Punk and Punk "quit" causing him to be stripped. As a company, WWE should give no credence to CM Punk as a champion. He of course has a "legitimate claim" to the title in his eyes and the fans, but the WWE should not look at it the same. They should be trying to "protect" their company image (in storyline anyways) and hold Punk at arms length.

How awesome would it have been if Punk returned only to be told that he must start all over again from the bottom? You talk about the fans getting behind him...they would be going insane for him as he worked his way back up the card.

So many different ways they could have/should have handled this potentially hot as fire storyline. Then again, they are desperate for star power so they probably felt they had to bring Punk back immediately. With that being the case, they're still handling this wrong. If Punk loses on Sunday...disbelief

Masters Reacts To Being Cut By WWE, Takes Shot At Raw Star, Future In TNA?

The Voice of Wrestling returned live last night from 7-8 EST with hosts, Chris Cash and Nick Paglino. Chris Masters – who was just released this past Friday from the WWE – joined Chris and Nick to discuss his recent departure, his future and much more. Other topics include SummerSlam this weekend, TNA’s Hard Justice pay per view, Gail Kim quitting and much more.

Chris Masters Interview Highlights

On being surprised about his WWE release: “If somebody on the outside was watching me, they wouldn’t be surprised because they hadn’t used me in any real storylines or anything. They just had me dittering on Superstars. But the thing is, for the last year and a half on Superstars, it really gave me time to develop my craft and really put some time into matches and through that I just really started taking a passion in the art of professional wrestling and through time it started to really translate. I came along a lot.”

On the rumors of Chris being in line to get a big push: “You know, the reports on the internet were actually a surprise to me because I hadn’t really told anybody. I don’t know if that came from one of the writers to the dirt sheets, but the extent of what I was told was..back around January of this year after Hunter [and Vince] had seen some of my matches, Hunter pulled me aside and was telling me, ‘Hey, we’ve noticed you’ve gotten really good and we’re just trying now to figure out exactly what to do with you. Maybe we need to take you off tv for a few months and give you a fresh coat of paint or a repackaging’, so we kind of left it at that. He had definitely come up and given me props a couple of times.

You know, I was kind of under the impression that they were going to figure something out for me and I was also trying to think of some suggestions for myself and you know, that’s probably why it was a surprise because of the fact I did feel like I had good things coming. I felt like this was going to be my year.”

On his reaction to the news: “Yeah, I’m pissed. I’m not going to deny that at all. This is the thing…the first time I got released, I brought it upon myself, so I accepted it. There’s a lot of things I didn’t do right the first time. I was also motivated coming back to the company and for it to turn out this way is upsetting because it’s not like I failed a drug test. I did things right and I was getting really good in the ring, so it is a lot more upsetting the second time around than it is the first time around.”

On going to TNA: “Well, it’s funny because I sat in my car about two weeks ago and really thinking to myself, ‘they need babyfaces now and if they’re not going to do something with me or invest in me right now, they’re never gonna do it. So I was already thinking to myself, maybe I need to start reaching out and seeing what else is out there – let’s just be frank. But I didn’t do it. And it’s funny because then you fast forward to weeks later and then this happened. Obviously, I’m taking bookings, but yeah, I’ve reached out to some people over at TNA and we’ll just see what happens with that. There’s of course the 90 day thing with WWE, but I’m not really going to rule out anything this time around”.

Chris Masters also talked about the reported changes in WWE, his two strikes against him in terms of the Wellness Policy and whether he thinks that potentially hurt their plans for him, what he was doing the moment he got the dreaded phone call from Johnny Ace, the influx of talent coming into the WWE and whether that’s a good or bad thing for the company, and Chris responds to his critics.

Masters also feels a number of wrestlers don’t belong in WWE, and specifically names David Otunga. “You think David Otunga’s ready for TV?” he asks the hosts. When asked why the Raw Superstar should have been fired before him, Masters replies, “Well, he’s got two left feet. C’mon, just watch him walk around the ring for five minutes.”

Masters, however, then says in defense of Otunga that the Tag Team Champion is a product of WWE’s system—wrestlers being called up to television prematurely.

The audio interview can be accessed here.

Will WWE Dump Morrison Due to Melina?, Why Melina Wasn’t Allowed In and More

- As noted before, Melina was not allowed into the building at last night’s WWE RAW in San Jose. The feeling was that there would have been major drama about her release if they would have let her into the backstage area. The entire WWE security team was informed not to allow her entry. There was a concern that Melina would physically cause a problem backstage.

Also as noted earlier, WWE officials weren’t happy with Melina joining John Morrison over the weekend at RAW live events. Officials are very down on Morrison over the incident, feeling that it was a huge breach of backstage etiquette.

Morrison’s current deal with WWE is up in a few months and the recent heat adds to speculation that WWE won’t resign him. One source adds that Melina may have burnt her bridge with WWE after her reactions online to being released.

Source: PWInsider

Lol!! They told her to keep her ass AWAY before she got got! lol This must be why they put Truth over Morrison cleanly last night. And as a matter of fact, do they even have a match together scheduled for Summerslam this Sunday? And why is the Miz not booked either? This is going to be one of the shittiest SS cards in recent memory! All they've got going for them is the Raw main event storyline, but they haven't put much thought into anything else, save for barely Boreton/Christian and maaaaaybe Sheamus/Henry.

Beth Phoenix Takes Shot At Melina; Melina Responds

Last Updated on Monday, 8 August 2011 11:41 Written by Ryan Clark Monday, 8 August 2011 11:41

Beth Phoenix was apparently scripted to take a shot at recently released WWE Diva Melina during her promo this week on RAW in which she said she was sick of the Divas division being made a mockery of. “No more booty popping, no more splits, no more stink faces,” Beth said following her victory over Eve. She also said she made plans to fly to the Baltimore, MD area before Summerslam to be with her future children's father, who goes by the nickname alexnvrmnd777, for a little "R&R".

Melina wrote on Twitter, “PS- Any Diva can try 2 do a split from here on out but what the WWE confirmed is that the SPLITS will always remind the world of me. Thank u.”

She continued, “I love the statement peeps! I bet the powers that be were waiting all night 2 hear that line go on air. Hee hee. I find it very flattering!”

Hee hee. I find it very flattering!”

thanks 4 the article however there is one misprint but i won't point it out ..CUE PUBLIC ENEMY'S DON'T BELIVE THE HYPE

Hey bruh, I only report the news. lol Don't get huffy with me if you can't handle the truth because, as my boy R-Truth says, it will set you free! Besides, why don't you think Melina said that?

nod Shelton Benjamin said the same exact thing. Otunga is absolutely horrible. IMO everyone in Nexus aside from Daniel Bryan failed expectations. NXT season 2 had more promising guys, but you saw what they did with Kaval. They could've had Kaval/Low Ki have the same hype as Sin Cara

where is shelton these days?

He's now in Ring of Honor, back again with Charlie Haas as The World's Greatest Tag Team.

It looks like there's a new addition to the WWE writing team, Kevin Eck. I usually check this guy's blog out a couple of times a week since he writes for my hometown paper The Baltimore Sun, and he's a pretty cool dude. And he's the kind of guy that goes for logic in a storyline....so far. We'll see after Steph and crew gets their hands on him.

Goodbye, Baltimore Sun; hello, WWE

It was a little more than four years ago that I launched Ring Posts on baltimoresun.com and began a chapter in my career that has been both fun and gratifying.

This entry will mark the closing of that chapter and the opening of a new one.

I am leaving my job as sports content editor and pro wrestling blogger at The Baltimore Sun to become a member of the WWE creative team.

It’s a bittersweet time for me to say the least. While I am very excited to be going to work for the professional wrestling industry leader – which also happens to be a company that I have been passionate about since I was 6 years old – saying goodbye to a place where I have so much history is extremely difficult.

I began working at The Sun as a part-time editorial assistant in the Sports department in 1986 when I was a 19-year-old college student. I went on to spend 13 years there before leaving to become the editor of WCW Magazine. After WWE bought WCW and I lost that gig as a result, I was fortunate enough to return to The Sun in 2002. That adds up to a total of 22 years that I have been at The Sun – literally half my life.

I can’t thank the powers that be at The Sun enough for allowing me to earn a living all these years doing something I enjoy. While working in the pro wrestling industry was a childhood dream, so was being an employee of my hometown newspaper.

I also fully realize that I would not have gotten my old job with WCW or my new one with WWE if not for the experience and exposure I gained through my employment with The Sun.

I wrote my first article on pro wrestling for The Sun in 1994 – a feature story on Randy “Macho Man” Savage that focused on his minor-league baseball career – and with that I became the paper’s unofficial wrestling writer.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to interview just about every major figure in the wrestling business, including Vince McMahon, Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Steve Austin, Ric Flair, John Cena, Eric Bischoff, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Sting.

In 2007, with the Internet changing how newspapers think and operate, some people at The Sun suggested that I write a wrestling blog. To be honest, I was initially lukewarm to the idea of taking on extra work, but once I got started, the blog became a labor of love.

I can’t stress enough how few jobs there are that could get me to entertain the thought of leaving The Sun for even a second. In fact, this opportunity with WWE may be the only one.

I think this is an exciting time to be joining WWE, which is currently in the process of altering its creative approach. I’ve accepted a position that will allow me to contribute from a creative standpoint and also use my skills as a journalist.

Ring Posts became more successful than I ever could have imagined, and I’d like to thank everyone reading this for making that possible, especially any of you who ever took the time to leave a comment. I truly believe the “comments” section – which provided a forum for readers to express their opinions and engage in discussions with me and their fellow readers – was as important in drawing people to the blog as anything I wrote. While some of the debates I had with readers became heated, I ultimately appreciated the fact that we had at least one thing in common: a passion for pro wrestling.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t take the time to publicly thank Dan McDevitt and everyone associated with Maryland Championship Wrestling for allowing me to become a member of their family over the past several years and furthering my education in the wrestling business.

In addition to being able to serve as a referee and actually getting to wrestle (well, sort of) in a match, the lessons I’ve learned from my association with MCW about wrestling as an art form and locker room etiquette have been invaluable, and I will take that knowledge with me to WWE.

I’ll be moving to Stamford, Conn., and starting with WWE at the end of the month. For anyone who is interested in keeping up with me, feel free to follow me on Twitter (@ringposts) or send me a friend request on Facebook.

In closing, I want to reiterate how incredibly gratifying and humbling it has been for me these past four-plus years to have people actually care what I have to say about a form of entertainment that I’ve been hooked on since I was in first grade.

I only hope that you all enjoyed reading Ring Posts at least half as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Editor's note: The Baltimore Sun plans to continue coverage of professional wrestling. We'll keep you posted.

Okay, I'm watching Impact for a second, and I came across this Knockouts tag match.

I didn't know Jackie's with the company now. And damn she's lookin' as good and as thick as EVER!!! I forgot how thick ODB was too. I guess I haven't seen her in a few weeks. She looks like she could break a brutha, but as I always say, I'll heal up. No biggie! lol

Of all the Knockouts we've talked about, I haven't heard anyone mention Miss Tessmacher. She's DEFINITELY on my "list", ya know?!!

All right, I gotta go back in the bed with my girl Beth, before she thinks I'm on here chattin' with another bitch and break her heart!! wink
