So I'm watching the "Legends Of Wrestling" roundtable about the NWO and while you get some cool insights from Kevin Nash about how the whole faction started and the whole negotiations that he and Hall had with WCW in the spring of 1996, it gets annoying because the whole "Bash WCW" stuff creeps in. It's a bit over an hour and they don't really talk about the high points, but more about why the NWO failed in the end, Bischoff's agenda to put WWF out of business, and why WCW went out business, and you can tell JR still has hurt feelings about the whole thing IMO lol

Michael Hayes mentioned that he was angry about the whole NWO thing taking off was because money was being taken away from the people who worked in WWF's offices neutral

The '96-98 period had other great moments

-The cruiserweight division

-the Best of 7 series between Booker T and Benoit

-Jericho's fued with Dean Malenko (am I the only who remembers this fued? it put Jericho on the map IMO)

-The whole "fake Sting" incident, thus causing Sting to use the crow persona

-The WCW tag division

-DDP's face turn

With all the flaws that WCW dealt with, and we know lack of mangement, overblown egos, and agendas brought the company down, the NWO wasn't the ONLY thing that made Nitro work or what made people turn to WCW instead of WWF. It got to the point when JR started talking, I fast forward because I felt he was still catching feelings about the whole situation lol

JR was right about the dilution of the NWO. The adding more and more guys was definitely overkill

and I STILL think the Arn Anderson retirement speech parody was hilarious

[Edited 7/23/11 7:07am]

See, I actually have a subscription to WWEClassics.com, which is - if you don't already know - their online subscription service to a whole bunch of old (and new) school WWE/WWF/ECW/WCW/WCCW shows and matches. It also has some newly recorded/put-together shows and people's lists of favorite matches, old PPVs, etc... on there. Now, why in the hell doesn't it get this Legends of Wrestling show or that Rountables show I've heard about?? Why is it ONLY available on the WWE Classics On Demand channel which is ONLY available on cable programming?? People with DirecTV or DISH Network can't get it, so wouldn't you think it would be available on their website as a part of their videos online subscription deal??? Gawd, they're stupid! lol I wanna see this show, along with some of the previous episodes too.

Now that I've gotten that rant out of the way...Hayes and whoever else (I'm looking at you too Gerry Brisco)needs to stop acting so damn asshurt over the fact that WCW in 90s was competing with WWF for viewers and dollars. I'm tired of hearing how Bischoff and WCW were trying to take food out of the mouths of the families of the WWF workers and make them homeless because they wanted to put them out of business. Um, this shit is/was a competition. Either man the fuck up and fight back (which they did) and shut up (which they didn't) or lay down.

You're right about WCW being more than just the NWO, but the NWO was the main angle that helped to spike up the ratings. Obviously, Nitro had to have more than just the NWO to have won the ratings battle for 84 straight weeks, but they only focus on the main ratings spark. The things you mentioned (and yes, I definitely remember Jericho/Malenko feud where Jericho says he knows 4 more holds than Malenko, LOL!; the cruiserweight division was better than TNA's X Division, IMO) were all quality, but the money shot was always the NWO. It really jumped the shark when it was the original NWO vs the Wolfpac and damn near everybody was in the group. It should've just been an elite group, not a gang of jobbers.

How long is the show, bboy?

It's a little bit over an hour and it's a good show BUT the whole "let's bash WCW" thing is old now and instead of talking about the NWO's high points, the great moments about the angle, and then what set it downhill and all that, it was tidbits from Nash in the middle of JR and 'nem acting butthurt about shit and why it was good but went nowhere

Like we know why WCW went out of business, we know why the NWO failed in the long run, and we know JR and Hayes' feelings about WCW (How many times are we gonna have to hear about how JR left WCW in 1993 or how Bischoff fired Steve Austin? and after hearing Bischoff's side, I believe him because his story sounds like some shit Stone Cold would do lol ) but please put it aside and talk about the topic from start to finish! lol

They could've talked about

Hall and Nash leave WWE for WCW

the Outsiders' run ins on Nitro

Hogan's heel turn at Bash At The Beach

the Nitro shows at the MGM Grand (like when Nash hurled Rey Mysterio into a trailer lol )

Fall Brawl '96 and the fake Sting

the constant wondering of "who's going to be next"

so many things they could've talked about.....

Okay, I just watched the 7/21 edition of Impact Wrestling. Can I just say say now, so I can get it out of the way, that I wanna fuck Sarita (mask and all, I don't care), Rosita, Velvet Sky, and Tara?! Hard. And I know I'm missing a couple too. You just KNOW dem boys be hitting that shit in the back there!! Lucky bastards!

Anyway, when they were interviewing everybody for that BFG 10-points ladder match, it really shows what I hate about TNA wrestling now. They all sounded the same, with nothing standing out among any of them. They were generic as shit! What, everybody has that boring, basic, oh-so-simple "I'm gonna kick your ass" type gimmick now? Yawn. And yeah, WWE has some of that too, but it just really stood out to me during this episode. AJ Styles was aboout the most "different" of the group, if you wanna call him that.

I hope Chris Nolan is getting fat royalty checks for the Sting character/angle they're doing. From his voice and mannerisms to the makeup to the clown-masked characters beating mofos up. Complete Dark Knight rip-offs. disbelief Having said that, I do wanna see where they're going to go with Sting's character (since at least it's evolved from the Crow gimmick he's had for over 10 years), but seeing as how Russo's booking shit STILL, I can't see it being anything promising.

I'd even smash Jackie boxed

lol

But yeah Velvet (who Hurricane Helms was with), Mickie James (who I think was with Cena when she was in WWE), Tara AND Miss Brooks could get the business 7 days of the week..

the promos are terrible, the constant "I'm gonna do what I need to do because I'm the best and this is where wrestling matters" crap is so generic

Am I the only who loves Brian Kendrick's promos? The WWE under utilized this guy. He was the saving grace with that fued with Abyss.

The Sting change.......now as some of ya'll know, I love Sting. I saw him at a mall signing in '91 when I was 4 and in my eyes, he was larger than life. For me, he was almost on the level I put Michael Jackson, and some of you know, that's big lol

That being said, this Joker shit is JUST NOT HITTING IT. It was cool for 2 shows but now it's going into complete rip off mode. At least with the Crow change, he took the basic outline of it and made it his own. With this, he's practically taking the outfit and persona straight off the corpse of Heath disbelief Then with the clowns..... faint Overkill.

TNA Reportedly Signs Shiima Xion, Tara Comments On Tag Team Title Victory
By Daniel Pena
Jul 25, 2011 - 11:29:40 AM

-- Tara posted a blog on her official website relaying her gratitude for winning the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship with Miss Tessmacher last Thursday on Impact Wrestling.

She wrote, "I want to discuss the Tag Team belts for a minute. I have been wrestling for 12 years, longer than any female in either WWE or TNA. But I am still a huge fan of the industry. When the wrestlers are watching the show backstage, and someone does some crazy maneuver, the loudest reaction is always from me. And no organization will give a wrestler, or superstar ; ), the opportunity to be in a position to win a championship belt if they didn’t have faith in their character and ability. They used to kid me at WWE because I was so proud of my belt when I had it, and I would carry it around with me backstage. But after I won the tag team belt, I saw Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan watching the show backstage. I thanked them for the opportunity. At first they thought I was joking because I'm a veteran but I was still sooo excited about winning it.

"I have heard it debated whether there needs to be a Women’s Tag Team Belt. And when I was training in MMA, I’ve heard people question the validity of a pro wrestling belt. But let me say this on behalf of Miss Tessmacher and I...we worked very hard to earn these belts. We love them. And every time that we put them on the line, you are guaranteed to see our best and get an unparalleled match. Because we're the Champs."

-- TNA Wrestling has reportedly signed Shiima Xion, who participated in the Four-way X Division Showcase tournament final at Destination X. He says he will be appearing on television soon as Zema Ion.

Ryder Impersonates The Ultimate Warrior, Benoit's Dad Suing WWE?, More
By Marc Middleton
Jul 25, 2011 - 5:05:02 PM

- House of the Rising Sun with former WWE Superstar Batista is now available in stores, on Redbox and on Netflix.

- WWE Divas Champion Kelly Kelly, Justin Gabriel and Alex Riley will be appearing at the FCW event on Wednesday, July 27th from the Orlando Armory in Orlando, Florida. Doors open at 6:30pm.

- At the WWE RAW event last night, Dolph Ziggler ended up taking finishing moves from most of the RAW babyfaces including Beth Phoenix and John Cena. The interesting part came when Zack Ryder impersonated The Ultimate Warrior and did a big splash. Ryder was decked out in Warrior tights and even had the Warrior tassels on.

- Chris Benoit's father Mike Benoit told Irv Muchnick at concussioninc.net that after following the NFL concussion lawsuit that is going on, he is considering organizing a class action lawsuit against WWE.

I remember Tara saying on Twitter a couple of weeks ago that she was excited after the Impact tapings and to tune in and for people not to post the spoilers (on her Twitter). She really seems like a mark for the business, and that's a good thing. A lot of guys/gals just drudge their way through each day and match and really just beat down by this business. It's good that the negatives of the industry hasn't dampened her spirit. Plus, I wanna fuck her. razz

Okay, I know what happened was very tragic, but Mike needs to just sit his ass down somewhere. His son was NUTS nuts and between that and the 'roids, he went out of control. Concussions were probably the least of his problems. Plus, the WWE has taken some steps to ensure that concussions get looked at and treated with extreme prejudice. I think the concussions were a catalyst. When they concluded the autopsy, they said he had the brain damage of a 84 year old alzheimer patient neutral MVP said in an interview that Benoit told me "Man, I feel like I'm losing my mind". Not to mention that he was somewhat antisocial and and very quiet.....

But if he's gonna sue WWE, he needs to sue all the other promotions who employed Chris. He needs to sue New Japan, Turner (who owned WCW when Chris was there), Stampede (if it's still around), Paul Heyman.....

They did all that just to put the title on Cena so we can wonder who's the real champion. Sigh.

At least Punk returned on camera. I mean, c'mon, we all knew he was still employed by the WWE for the entire time. His contract doesn't really expire until September (I think), so we may still see an absence from him within a month or two. I wish The Miz would've won and set up a feud with him and Punk. That's more interesting than Cena/Punk. I hope, if anything, the crowds will be 100% behind Punk and virtually force Cena into a heel role. Also glad to hear Punk's old entrance theme, "Cult Of Personality", back!

And what kind of bullshit "State of The WWE" address was that? A brief promo while introducing JR (welcome back) and boring ass John Morrison??! What a letdown.

And what kind of bullshit "State of The WWE" address was that? A brief promo while introducing JR (welcome back) and boring ass John Morrison??! What a letdown.

Well it is a storyline and entertainment so I hope people don’t believe everything lol

Tonight felt like a middle finger to the entire IWC.

You want Zack Ryder on RAW? Ok...here he is...in a 30 sec squash of Michael Cole. Lawler even said "I think this is the first time he's ever been on RAW!"

You dont like Cena as the champ? JR's response to the "controversial" response Cena gets? "Every seat is full and that's what matters."

As for putting the belt back on Cena and bringing Punk back right away?

WWE needs a new BOOKER...stat!!!!!!!!

As for the Knockouts...I'd fuck the shit out of ODB!!!!!! She's my kind of lady! nod

I'm not one of the Cena haters but i thought i was 100 percent sure that

R.Truth was going to be the one that got to challenge Mysterio for the title.

Me too, dude! I SO thought that was going to happen, and I guess we were supposed to think that as they swerved us with that bumper shot of him talking to Triple H. But everything he said about John Cena and being robbed of a rematch, etc, is the EXACT same thing that can be said for Truth. But do they care about him getting a rematch? Of course not. disbelief

Also, does anything think Punk came back on-air waaaay too soon?? They didn't stretch that out one bit. Now that he's back, there's no point in keeping up with where he appears next (Comic-Con, independent show on Sunday) with the belt because it apparently looks like he's already been re-signed by Triple H.

I'm not even mad at that, dude! She's got some of the BEST titties in the business, so I hear you, bruh! nod

I caught that Cena comment too from JR, and he's been pretty much a Cena sympathesizer for a while now, so it's not surprising. His whole stance is the same as the office's: he makes money for us and that's all that matters.

They didn't even bother to change the model of the belt lol

They've had that belt for at least 6 years now, all they did was bring in a replica off the merchandise stand.

"We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

ODB is SUPER HOT!!!!

Don't get me wrong...I'd spend time with Velvet and Mickie and the rest...hell, Karen Angle-Jarrett better not walk past me...but ODB is my fav. The others are too generic. They're hot as hell, but all kind of the same, you know?

Then again...I think Bull Nakano is hot. nod

WWE wow no words to that title change……but Cm punk is still here.

that shit last night was so fucking predictable. rey wins then ADR comes out cause iof the beef with rey. then JR is back? then cena gets the opportunity instead of R Truth who STILL hasn't had his rematch with cena!!??

only good thing was CM Punk at the end

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
