Okay, but they definitely showed all the metal "melting" into the form of the ship, right? I'm pretty sure that's what it looked like.

Did nobody see the cubes gather to make the spaceship?

They flew out of the shipping containers they were in (and still on site for some reason.)

No explanation for what he had been building. Maybe what he built was something to get the cubes back and rebuild his ship, which they did.

I may have missed that part, I do not remember seeing the actual cubes fly out of the containers.

The shipping containers were on the trucks. But remember they were spiraling up to the watertower and we had seen more than one shipping container of cubes when the train derailed.
