Like Ferris said ....... "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

The best thing about this film is the use of Sigue Sigue Sputnik's "Love Missile F1-11."

I only saw it for the first time a couple years ago. It was the "cinema nut-buster" for a trivia contest I was in - and getting the movie trivia nailed down is always my contribution to the team.

Today, I found out about a line that was in the original script that got cut from the final movie:

FERRIS
My uncle went to Canada to protest the war, right? On the Fourth of July he was down with my aunt and he got drunk and told my Dad he felt guilty he didn’t fight in Viet Nam. So I said, “What’s the deal, Uncle Jeff? In wartime you want to be a pacifist and in peacetime you want to be a soldier. It took you twenty years to find out you don’t believe in anything?” [snaps his fingers] Grounded. Just like that. Two weeks. [pause] Be careful when you deal with old hippies. They can be real touchy.

The last two sentences (after the "pause") are one of my guiding principles. lol

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I saw it in the theater way back then. I thought it was okay. I never understood what the big deal with it was, though.

big audio dynamites BAD was also in the movie, plus yello and dream theatre. he never released an official soundtrack album as he thought it was too eclectic for commericial release

john was the genre king of the 80s, and still emulated today. if he just didn't get involved with that home alone in bed with michael jackass series and the mozart the bounty hunter stuff he would have a perfect run of movies

16 candles, breakfast club, pretty in pink, weird science, ferris bueller, planes trains and automobiles, uncle buck, she's having a baby, curly sue and some kind of wonderful. just a few of his movies

don't you forget about hughes

Maybe it's because I'm feeling old as dirt today, but it seems like it should be more than 25 years.
