My favorite was Episode One because Jar Jar Binks reminded me of the good old days when Steppin Fetchit was on tv. You can keep the mule.

I hated that shit too. There was no doubt what Jar was about. His walk, talk was definitely Steppin Fetchit. Don't know why they put him in. Maybe to phuck with folks. Questioning the edit [This message was edited Sat Feb 8 18:32:04 PST 2003 by SuperC]

Questioning the edit [This message was edited Sat Feb 8 18:32:04 PST 2003 by SuperC] Right... there is no doubt that "Episode One" was funded by the KKK and was meant to demean blacks... then again, maybe there is a doubt, as Jar Jar was some sort of fucking lizard creature and the KKK didn't fund it. Hmmm... I guess it wasn't racist after all. SUPERJOINT RITUAL - http://www.superjointritual.com

"Empire" had the best mix of special effects, action, and humor, and terror. No cute fuzzy animals. Fear is the mind-killer.

Star Wars (A New Hope or Episode IV or whatever you want to call it).
It was fresh, innovative (for its time) and broke ground for all of sci-fi to follow. Plus...no ewoks, no Hutts and no Jar-Jar Binks. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Empire..even though as a kid I was let down by it ..but I didn't know shit back then. Empire hands down is the best of them all. Jedi is cool tough for the ultimate battle of ships etc. And for the ..get this..a father and son talk between Vader and Luke bwhahaha..we tripped. we cried.we laughed.we almost got kicked out. Not saying Lucas meant any harm etc in doig that but lets get real..this isn't someting thats pulled out of thin air as some think always happens. This one is legit. "Climb in my fur."

There is a history of racist imagery being used to animate cartoon animals--crows in Dumbo, speedy gonzales the mouse, etc. Does the fact that they were cartoons of a fucking mouse or a fucking bird take away from the fact that they were playin on racist stereotypes? I will not say that old cartoons did not have racist things in them... they were made during a time when racism was basically an accepted thing... this does not make it right, but it was accepted then. George Lucas is not stupid enough to purposely put out a racist product in this day and age. He is in this for money and he would only stand to LOSE money and fans if he purposely portrayed racist images. BUT... you will naturally think that everything that is done by a white person is racist no matter what, so it is not worth arguing. SUPERJOINT RITUAL - http://www.superjointritual.com

Just "then"? Because those cartoons were on tv well into the late 1970s and early 1980s and many are still on air on cable networks. George Lucas is not stupid enough to purposely put out a racist product in this day and age. He is in this for money and he would only stand to LOSE money and fans if he purposely portrayed racist images.
I doubt he did it on purpose. Maybe he was just like you and thought "it's just a fucking lizard." A shuck and jive, skin and grin lizard, but a fucking lizard nonetheless. BUT... you will naturally think that everything that is done by a white person is racist no matter what

Ice stop generalizing..just stop it. There have been MANY subjects brought up here where race was never an issue etc..but whenever someting that is in actuality in that categrie and it is brought up you generalize that everything to certain people is racist. and that its always a factor in everything they do.. you know damn well thats not the case. Now please stop that. I respect you too much to not mention this. Of course it may seem that race is always brought up and that "folks is always comlainin" but believe me..there are many many timeswhen race COULD be brought up but it isnt for many mnay reasons. Dont damn people for when they do. It isn't like they do it for pleasure or sport. I mean damn..come on now. "Climb in my fur."
