When I read this article, I was really saddened. Usually, I can read something and move on. What are your thoughts? I do not want this to turn into an ugly debate, just thoughts on the aftermath? A tradegy indeed. I wonder if counseling was provided beyond her termination, or more importantly immediatly after the event.

Medical errors are gonna happen. That's just how it is, because we all screw up sometimes, that's just a part of being human.

To me it's really messed up how they had security escort her out and then fired her. Probably trying to cover their own asses and throw her under the bus because they worried they might get sued.

Agreed, errors happen, no one is perfect, even if we are asked to be, and strive our best to be. I agree with the thought process of the cover up/throw her under the bus. To clarify, I am in no way diminishing the loss of the child. I am a mom of two, and real life, if this happenned to me, I would be angry and likely asking for heads to roll if I lost a child. Just a sad story that made me pause longer than normal when I read it.

definitely a tough position to be in on, for both sides. i lost a best friend in 2004 because of a medical error.
