My 20 year high school reunion is this Saturday. It will take place at the Jersey shore (no, I'm not dressing up as Snookie ) at this place. It is an afternoon thing (4-8pm) and on the fb event page the dress said "beach casual" (though I can't find where the hell it said it now ).

Anywhoo...I don't want to totally overdress but I also don't want to go in like shorts and a t-shirt (I don't care if anyone else shows up like that). I mean, I haven't seen most of these folk in 20 years.

***Disclaimer ALL MY SHIT IS WRINKLED as I never empty the dryer fast enough but I steam and iron

I thought I had it all figured out and in the bag. And got busy with commission work and now that I'm done and I have to pack (we leave tomorrow), I'm freaking out.

A month or so ago I bought this shirt, which I figured I'd wear with some khakis (the middle ones).

imo beach = long sleeves, against sunburn.

love the sandal shoes.

prefer the jeans and first long sleeve shirt with the sandal shoes.

Actually, this is the appropriate way to store items made of linen and long-staple cotton. It minimizes flex abrasion.

Khakis are for old people and people who work at the Gap/Best Buy/Target. I also would recommend a shoe instead of the sandal. A little more dressed up goes a long way.

If I wore a jean, then I'd do shoes for this.

I disagree on the khaki thing tho. I think it's in how you wear them (in this instance, it's not a dress khaki, shirt would go untucked). I find them age appropriate, I don't need to fool anyone about my age.

hmmm, personally, I like to wear strong colors with strong colors lol. If I wore khaki pants, then the sandals/shirt should be soft as well

no sandals.

Your pick was my initial choice anyway :soulmates: so that's most likely what I will wear. Plus I think I'd like to wear the jeans out one of the nights.

I will bring shoes in case, but for me sandals is what makes the outfit "beach".
