I've been doing a little bit of soul searching myself lately. I feel like I'm actually able to get some money to put down on a house, but why bother? I'm single, not dating anyone right now, and want to live more simply. Instead of worrying about buying stuff, I'd rather be able to experience new things. Now if I meet some stunngly gorgeous sexy red-headed Latina with nice large natural boobs and a bubble butt who happens to be a single mom with three kids, then I'd might consider buying a house.

But I've got two words for you to google: lifestyle design. This is also a good book to start with.

1. No one on their deathbed ever said, "I sure wish I'd spent more time at the office".

2. You pretty much only regret the things you don't do, not the things you do.

Visas, obligations and all these things suck . I still haven't given up hope that I will find a way to spend at least part time there . You can come and visit me then .

I'm going to live in Argentina for a year (or more)

with nothing planned.

I'm leaving next month!

I can imagine ! Well I did something that was a little similar in some ways and once you are in a situation it is natural and a lot less frightening or unusual than it may occur before you go for it. And you will learn so much about life and yourself !

It took ages and a lot of perseverance but I got rid of my debts one by one. I just wanted to get this over with.

You can work a double shift and still be homeless.

I've simplified my life dramatically and I love it!

First of all, I live in a condo, so I don't have to do all of the work owning a house entails.

I've never had any debt and I put away as much as I can for retirement (a certain percentage of my weekly income goes directly into retirement investments). If you have any debt, deal with it ASAP!

I stopped worrying about pleasing people who did not have my best interests at heart.

I stripped down my possessions and expenditures.

I don't travel anymore because I found the negatives outweighed the positives for me (and as a Buddhist dilettante, I believe looking outside yourself for happiness is fruitless, anyway).

The simple life is the only life!

Great stuff! I especially like the part about not pleasing people who don't have your best interests at heart. That's what I've recently started doing.
