I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that I've never seen an episode of Dr. Who. I'm pretty sure I would like it a lot. But it's been around so long that I'm intimidated to try jumping on.
And I don't really understand why he's a different actor all the time. Is it the same character or is Dr. Who an entity who changes his face a lot? And what powers does Dr. Who have?

The Dr is an alien from the planet Gallifrey. His people mastered time travel and called themselves time lords.
from a wiki-Regeneration, in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who, is a biological ability exhibited by the Time Lords, a race of fictional humanoids originating on the planet Gallifrey. This process allows a Time Lord who is old or mortally wounded to undergo a transformation into a new physical form and a somewhat different personality. The process has been used ten times to introduce a new actor for the role of the main character of the program, the Doctor. The current one is Matt Smith, who followed David Tennant in the role.
As far as powers go,he doesn't really have any besides the regeneration, unless you count super intelligence and a complete understanding of time and space as such.

next weeks (the rebel flesh) is realy good. It's quite hard to take it all inin one sitting, you might end up having towatch it a couple of times so you don't miss anything.. And then it's the cliffhanger ending to the first half of the series. Can't wait blah blah blah
