Elimination or detecting diet I'm starting with this diet. Does anybody have any experience with it? And/or recipes?
I have to continue for 6 weeks!

I'm confused by your request for recipes. Kind of hard to offer anything when we have no idea what you're eliminating. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Diets are dumb... Unless your gonna eat that way forever your gonna gain the weight back when you eat your "regular" food..
Eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly is the best "way of life" not dieting.... ~~~~~ Oh that voice...incredible....there should be a musical instrument called George Michael... ~~~~~

Elimination diets are usually used to discover if certain foods are triggers for certain conditions or otherwise harmful to you. For example, a friend of mine was having a horrible time with migraines. She’d get a few a month and they were completely debilitating and last for 2-3 days. After years of trying various treatments and methods she tried an elimination diet where she stopped eating all KINDS of things for a solid 3 months to reset her body. Then she’d introduce one thing back at a time and see how it went – if she received more or less migraines, etc. She was able to pinpoint things that caused them more than others and knew what to limit or eliminate from her diet by doing so. Onions, chocolate, red wine, wheat, all kinds of things.
Others may eliminate things to determine if they have a lactose or gluten intolerance, for example.
They are generally not about losing weight. At least not in my understanding. |

It's a very restricted diet, eliminating everything.
No soy, wheat, additives, fruit (only pear), potato, flower and/or yeast. No fish. No alcohol, coffe, most teas, any soda or anything with sugar in it.
This is what I can eat:
I may eat sweet potatoes, yams, cabbage, carrots, squash (many varieties), asparagus, cauliflower, avocados, celery, garlic, okra, radishes, greens (beet, mustard, spinach, collards, etc.), cucumbers, eggplant, Brussels sprouts, kale, avocado, broccoli, parsnips, green peppers.
ginger, cilantro, almond butter, and sesame butter are allowed.
I can drink water and fresh mint tea.

I agree. I would never diet if it wasn't for doctor's order. I love me some good food! And hate restrictions! And I don't need to lose weight, I'm very petite, I have to watch that I keep enough weight with the food restrictions I'm on now!!

She did it for 3 months? I start with 4 weeks. When my complaints improve, I get another 2 weeks, so after 6 weeks I can start experimenting with adding ingredients to the diet and monitoring my complaints....
I just pray that in my case it's not chocolate. I just love chocolate. I'm on this diet for two days and just craving for chocolate, cafe au lait, and potatomash
How did she find the dieting? Does she have tips for me? Recipes or other usefull things she found out?

oh! I was wondering what they meant
I have considered one of these myself, but it sounds so difficult. I can hardly give up chocolate for a day! My Legacy

Oh, sorry! I didnt realize it was for medical reasons until I read Carries response... This I understand since I have allergies myself and was "supposed" to eliminate things like nuts and chocolates...
Good luck in finding the culprit of what ails you! ~~~~~ Oh that voice...incredible....there should be a musical instrument called George Michael... ~~~~~

What you're mostly craving (it seems) is sugar - which is not unusual when you go cold turkey on sugar.
Chocolate cravings, however, may be a sign of magnesium deficiency. Try taking 400 mg of magnesium citrate or gluconate a day - and see if that helps. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Also...take the magnesium at night. It's a calming mineral and will help you sleep. It'll also help you "go" in the morning.
I swear by it. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

As stated earlier, elimination diets aren't about weight loss.
