BERWICK, Pa. — For one group of central Pennsylvania eighth-graders, a recent field trip to Baltimore included lunch at Hooters — a restaurant better known for its busty waitresses than its food.

The Berwick Middle School students were visiting the National Aquarium last week. Chaperones took them to various restaurants for lunch because the group of 100 was too large for a single place.
The Bloomsburg Press Enterprise reports Tuesday that one group of 15 to 20 students ended up at Hooters.

Superintendent Wayne Brookhart says that while he wishes the group's coed chaperones had chosen another restaurant, he has not received any complaints from parents.
Hooters spokesman Mike McNeil says the restaurant chain often hosts groups, including sports teams and church organizations with teens and younger children.

I guess they have more clothes on than anyone at a pool or beach....

Yeah, that's pretty much my thinking as well. I'm sure these children have seen much more on the net and TV.

I can't even imagine how much fun my firends and I would have had in 8th grade on such a field trip. Eyes of wonder, more wonder than the actual field trip.

LOL, no but I'm sure the girls learned a lesson about being sex objects that will carry through the rest of their lives, too.

Hooters became family friendly decades ago, I don't see the big deal. They're in Times Square for christ's sake.

True. The last time I was in Hooters (maybe 10 years ago when I was visiting home), the girls didn't look all that sex-pot-ish. Especially with those extra support-control top style pantyhose they were wearing under their shorts...and they didn't even have big boobs. They looked more like they were dressed in bad sports dancer costumes than anything else, with not so much hooters to actually speak of...

I strongly believe that taking a bunch of 8th graders to Hooters for a field trip lunch was not a good idea. But the waitness' infamous uniforms has nothing to do with it.

Apart from the hot wings, the food at Hooters just isn't that great.

This is a non story - the parent's didn't even complain so what's the issue!

Saves them teaching sex education LOL
