On her reality show last season they had an episode where she went to a speech coach to help her diction for spokesmodel work. Needless to say she didn't think anything was wrong while the lessons were of course, a hot buttered mess.

Girl, I'm not surprised. She's one step (barely) up from these entitled reality hussies. Want all the glory but don't wanna put in the work.

The intern with the accent is actually doing an australian accent if that's who you are referring to...and I think she's really australian.

After the first episode I was kinda in and out with the rest of the episodes....never watched them fully....I dont really know the characters names even.

SATC was funny and had witty dialogue on nearly every episode but it was little unrealistic too, at least when it came to the sexual escapades of Samantha (Kim Catrall's character). Plus the number of str8 men appearing on each ep was more on par with what you would find in NYC. It just isn't flying on Single Ladies which is based in ATL. Maybe if the show took place in LA, Houston, or Columbus...I'd add D.C. but there's hardly any difference between DC and ATL when it comes to the lack of available, educated, employed and str8 black men.

Especially considering the ratio of women/men is like 10:1 in ATL. That scene at the party where Stacey couldn't turn around without running into a fine, rich guy who wants to date her was too unreal.

Maybe, but a lot of the storylines were realistic IMO. Their lifestyles were exaggerated but I have personally experienced a LOT of the dating/relationship scenarios on SATC. But with this show, it focuses a LOT on them just meeting multiple black men per episode who are all good on paper in ATL which is a major stretch of the imagination. It would be more realistic IMO if the show dealth with the typical dating life of black women in ATL but that shit might be too depressing.

I don't expect too much from the show, so I'll keep watching for the barechested bruhs.

I agree...You absolutely cannot compare both shows...SATC was a very good and entertaining show....I read some of the writers incorportated stuff that went on in their real lives into the scripts..so it wasn't completely overboard and unrealistic all the time....and in any episodes that were... I feel those were done in a very funny way.

I agree...You absolutely cannot compare both shows...SATC was a very good and entertaining show....I read some of the writers incorportated stuff that went on in their real lives into the scripts..so it wasn't completely overboard and unrealistic all the time....and in any episodes that were... I feel those were done in a very funny way.

I remember hearing that they had like 10 female writers and that a lot of the eps came from them sitting around a table and talking about their dates on Monday mornings. Shit, I LIVED that Steve and Miranda relationship minus the kid and marriage.

I know, right?! They always acting like it's always the black millionaires' playground. ALL the women are fine, working, and making decent coin, and the brothers all own their own successful business (be it record label or skrip club) and drive Bentleys! Sure, there's some of that around the city, but it just seems like EVERY show centered in ATL goes with that same theme.

I guess it's better than a black show depicting everything like it's a grimy ghetto, a la Good Times!

Yep apart from Sammantha...the 3 other ladies all had totally plausible relationships...but Steve and Miranda always felt the realest (If that's a word ) to me

Okay, I'm watching the latest episode, and T.O. is one of the absolute WORST actors I've seen in a long time!! You can tell he's trying so damn hard too. Lol! His lines just come off sounding unnatural with an uneven flow.

I don't get why T.O's acting was so terrible. Hasn't he been working with an acting coach for some time now? On his reality show, he was supposed to be trying to break into acting.

Onto the show itself, I KNEW Daryl was being just too easy when it came to forgiving April, but that was hella COLD of how he served her with those papers, at her b-day party and in front of her friends!! That's what happens when you wanna play the whore's role. As soon as he said was wanting to give her the gift for a few days, I knew exactly what it was. And he's goin' for HALF!!! You know a brutha's hurtin' to pull some shit like that!
