Serious question....

Would you let your daughter (or someone very close to you in your family) accuse you of molesting or abusing them, if you knew it might help save her life? If she was accused of first degree murder in a state which has the death penalty, and this was the only way to help save her life?

Would you allow this to happen?

The Casey Anthony case astounds me. Part of the defense in this case is to paint her as a victim of child molestation. It's like her parents are being punished all over again on the stand. I watch with equal parts horror and fascination.

With respect, I don't think you understand the case in question. It's not really about YOUR daughters, it's about what Casey Anthony has been accused of doing, and what she's using as her defense.

But it sounds like in the Casey Anthony case (and -- forgive me -- I don't know the facts as I've decidedly ignored it), we have parents possibly owning accusations of an egregious activity as a red herring to distract from the fact their daughter willingly murdered someone -- a child. That's not at all something the consequences of which I'd help protect my daughter from.

This, to me, is the important point.

If my child were innocent, I can see myself taking a fall to save their life.

In the Casey Anthony case, the overwhelming evidence that has already come to light very strongly suggests that Casey indeed murdered Kaylee and her parents not only helped her cover it up, but are now attempting to help her get away with it.

Fuck that.

And that sex abuse craziness that just came out is the icing on the nutcake.

I'm aware of the case in as much as I had a quick read through the main points on Wikipedia but I thought the question was not directly about the case just inspired by it.

if i could use the abuse physical and sexual that i endured from about 10 years to adult as an excuse to commit murder (or anything else )... murder would be legal for me. it pisses me to no end the way people will try to use abuse as an excuse..at some point in your life you must decide you are done..and let them know..and take your life in another direction..for her to use alledged abuse sexual or otherwise as a defense in sayin ''i did it because'' of the abuse..if her parents helped her try to cover up what happened then they get what they deserve..all the accusations, lies, all of it..

if they truly did not know what casey had done (alledgedly) then i cant see why they would try to back her up...
