I live in a rural area, no sidewalks at all. In other areas IO don't reacall there ever being a term for that strip of grass

We call it.... the yard...hmm I dont think over here in america, there is a special word for it... its just more grass to mow... lol And we put our trash by the curb, or at the curb...

our nature strips are council property, they cut back the trees that grow on it, but we mow the lawn

That is what I have always called those things.

I always knew boulevard as streets that have a wide usually grassy divider between lanes, usually in upscale neighborhoods
