YOUR FIRST EVER EMAIL!!!

Hey guys, can u remember who u sent your very first email to in the online Prince world, when you first got online with your first computer???? And can u remember who your very first reply was from??

I distinctly remember who my first email was to!! I first got online, when I lived in Marshall, Minnesota, and it was to Peter Bryant, the then Editor of the UK Prince fanzine, The Interactive Experience!! I obtained a few copies of the magazine from a freind of mine when I came over to the UK for a visit and it contained his email address in it and I thought that I would email him, when I got back home to the States!! Its so sad now, that the Interactive Experience doesnt exist and I think that Peter is no longer a fan of Prince, due to Princes' infamous lawsuits against websites in the 90s, of which the Interactive Experience was one of the targets!!

So, can u guys remember who was your first recipient of an email from u???biggrin biggrin

ick, I didn't have internet at home until 1999, and I think by then my interest died down a bit

I joined the org in 2003 when Australian tour rumours surfaced, so by 2004 I was talking to some of the folks here in orgnotes. But prior to that, perhaps Michael Mesker who was building the 7/sevenmag website? hmmm I remember my workmate Ebony and me thought it was fun to have him as a penpal (email was still a novelty to us)

I think my first orgnote here was from a younger orger asking me what classes to take in university after she was impressed with my posts in P&R. Can't recall her name, but it was very, very flattering.

My first correspondence with a member here, though, was with Tom, whom I think I met in an AOL Prince fan chatroom around 1997. We did some instant messaging and possibly some emailing back and forth, and I believe he was the first to introduce me to the Paisley Park Mailing List, which eventually would turn into Prince.org.

I think my first email was to another school - we were trying to organise a French exchange but we accidentally sent it to a school in the Isle Of Wight. wink LOL

This would have been around 1993-1994.

We then got internet at home in about Nov 1996 - I kept persuading my parents. When we got it, it was very exciting. I remember watching the live NASA launches on it, although it was only a picture updated every minute!

I first came into contact with Prince fans in early 1997 through the PPML and through the chat room.

I used to spend a lot of time on it and because the Internet cost money then (you had to pay for the time online too) the phone bill was massive so I had to do jobs through the summer to pay it off!! So understandably I had to cut down a bit after that!

Been on and off ever since, I much preferred the PPML to the org, nicer design and it felt more intimate, like this is a new discovery a new thing, while the Org tends to have phases of having good people who are fun and then being full of idiots - I tend to stay when the atmoshere is better a

and people are less hating on Prince in general.

I also met a lot of really fantastic people on the old Emancipation Mailing List, which was linked through Princes' Love4OneAnother Official site!! Either that or the www.emale.com site, I cant remember which one now, but that mailing list was so beautiful!! A real Spiritual Haven!!!!

I was just thinking the other day if all the posters on the EML are still Prince fans today!! But its so weird how u think that u are gonna b freinds with Prince fans forever, but now they are no longer in your life!!! Its all very sad really!! I really miss all my old past freinds and I often wonder where they are today!!sad sad sad
