I think that's what it used to mean back in the day, but it appears these days it means a collection of all that unneccessary stuff you get at trade shows, conventions, etc., i.e. free notepads, pens, pencils, coffee mugs, etc. However, if you are a huge celebrity, it means that expensive gift basket of stuff they give to you to present an award at the Grammys, Oscars, or Emmys.

I admit, I'm guilty of that in casual conversation. It's a mental nervous tick from back in my high school days which I haven't gotten rid of yet.

That word is used far too much in my house lately. "That's beast!" I like slang. I like how its constantly changing from generation to generation, how it varies from one region to another. But for some reason I just can't get used to beast.
